S.O.S.

Spazz Cardigan’s infectious new single is a sign of more raw yet fun honesty to come from this Nashville artist.

Spazz Cardigan’s S.O.S. is available NOW on all streaming platforms!

In 2018, each one of the five singles Spazz Cardigan released debuted on Spotify’s New Music Friday. They’re all fun, relatable songs that have me singing and dancing along whether I’m in the crowd at a live show or alone in my car.

Kicking off 2019 with “S.O.S.”, something felt different. The song is still fun and relatable — but it feels more raw and cathartic. Instead of just singing and dancing, I want to jump to the beat and shout the lyrics at the top of my lungs. The feeling “S.O.S.” evokes bring up 10+ year old memories of my friends and I at high school dances, arms around each other’s shoulders, howling along to whatever angsty but upbeat song was popular at that moment, our faces turned towards the gym ceiling during the chorus, left breathless and laughing at our own dramatics as the song ended.

I wanna get over it // and not pull the same old shit // na nanana na, na nanana

With the release of this single came the announcement of Spazz’s second EP, Vulnerabilia, due to be released on March 22nd. His first EP, I, was released in 2017, and has been a favorite of mine for road trips or motivating myself since I first listened. Now, especially with the release of “S.O.S.”, I can’t wait to see what new vibes Spazz is sending our way in 2019.

With introspective lyrics, catchy melodies, a morse code-inspired electronic element, and subtly striking guitar riffs, Spazz Cardigan’s “S.O.S.” is a must-listen to keep us marching through a new year that already seems a little long. It’s a reminder that we can make it through whatever mistakes we make, as long as we keep listening, learning, and being honest.
