God, You’re So Good

Photo by Amritanshu Sikdar on Unsplash

When I think you’ve done enough
You top it up till an overflow
And just as more is on the way
You make it much more

When I think it’s too good to be true
I sleep thinking it’s all a dream
I dream thinking I’m still asleep
I wake and it’s all still there

You take away years of sorrow
All in an instant, in a moment
You wipe away the ocean of tears
All with a piece of goodness

You adorn me with favour
You clothe me with joy
You shod my feet with good news
You crown my head with goodness

And just when I thought You were done
I hear horses and see dust rising
It’s another caravan of goodness
Bringing treasures from afar

Though you slay me, I will yet trust in You
You didn't do so much and give so much
Just to put out the light now
You’re trimming the wick to burn brighter

Though you chastise me
You only do so to the ones you love
You’re only pruning me
For my fruits to become juicier

God, You are so good
Better than anything I have known

Merizo (gk: divide, apportion inheritance). We learn, live and love by truth. The word of God is quick and powerful. It is sharper than any two-edged sword. It can divide and distinguish between soul and spirit; good and God. It can apportion an inheritance for us in His will.
