Lord Lift Us Up
As the heavens are far above the earth
So are your ways above and beyond ours
So, Lord, lift us up to your ways
Above the wisdom and the strength here
As light is not worth much under a bushel
As a city on a hill stands strong and beautiful
Lift us up unto our lamp stands, to the hills
Let us shine forth and bring you glory
A house built on sand cannot stand the storm
But one on the rock will live through many
Lift us up above the common and earthy
Establish us upon the everlasting rock
As stars are set in their course above
Set us in our place, in heavenly places
Let’s be light enough to give guidance on earth
Faithful enough to help people navigate to you
Lift us up from all that holds us back
The quicksand, the mire and the obstructions
Set our feet on the solid rock, steady our feet
Put a new song on our lips, a song of praise
