Who is MERJ
MERJ is an innovative multimarket, multicurrency, global securities exchange. We are licensed and regulated by the Financial Services Authority Seychelles to operate an exchange, clearinghouse and depositary.
The group was established in 2011 as Trop-X and has been securing licenses and regulatory approvals for equities, debt and derivatives since then.
In 2016 we started looking closely at the benefits of tokenized securities and how we could potentially trade them within our regulated infrastructure. In close cooperation with our regulators, we have now put in place a regulatory framework which allows us to list, trade, clear, settle and register digital securities alongside equities, debt and derivatives. We believe this can bring many advantages for issuers, investors, and regulators. To reflect this new capability, we rebranded from Trop-X to MERJ in 2019, a reference to a merging of the old world of securities exchanges and the new world of digital assets.
