In my first article, light was shed on the limitations of LLMs. With those in scope, valuable solutions that address these gaps are presented. To put the solutions into practice, this article goes over use cases that Marketing can leverage, as well as showcases our very own use case that uses Context Fusion to provide accurate and Merkle-specific responses.

Before diving in, a short recap of the most important terms from my first article below.

Large Language Models are neural network-based models designed to process and generate human-like text. Because they are trained on extensive datasets, LLMs learn intricate language patterns, semantic relationships, and context. And by leveraging deep learning techniques, LLMs can generate coherent and contextually relevant responses.

Context Fusion: The process of combining diverse sources of business data and contextual information to enrich the LLMs knowledge and improve its business-oriented performance.

Toolkit: An extensive set of (custom-built) tools and functionalities that seamlessly integrate with the contextual powerhouse, amplifying the LLMs capabilities and enabling tailored business outcomes.

Context Fusion within Merkle’s Genai

Within the realm of Context Fusion, one application is its integration into our very own Merkle-specific multimodal chatbot called Genai. With Context Fusion, Genai becomes an intelligent virtual assistant that combines the power of language understanding with contextual knowledge tailored to our company’s needs. By incorporating client cases, and Merkle-specific data like insights into our office locations and imperatives, Genai gains the ability to provide highly accurate and relevant responses to client inquiries.

Genai acts as a virtual colleague accessible via a Node.js web app, effortlessly guiding colleagues through a personalized and contextually rich experience. Whether colleagues seek information about our services, want to hear specific cases on for example B2B marketing, or have specific questions regarding our company offices, Genai leverages Context Fusion to deliver precise and comprehensive answers. With this integration, Genai becomes an invaluable asset in enhancing customer interactions, improving efficiency, and streamlining the client experience.

Moreover, Context Fusion empowers Genai to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in our business domain, without being dependent on LLM updates. Genai can effortlessly adapt to evolving trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics by continuously infusing it with relevant contextual information. This ensures that clients receive the most accurate and current information, providing them with an informed experience. To top things off, Genai also leverages other AI solutions like OpenAI’s Whisper (speech-to-text) and Azure’s Cognitive Services (text-to-speech).

In summary, Context Fusion revolutionizes the capabilities of our business-specific multimodal assistant. With Context Fusion in its foundation, Genai represents the cutting-edge convergence of business-specific intelligence and generative AI, unlocking new levels of efficiency and effectiveness in client interactions.

Advanced Marketing Strategies Enabled by Contextual AI

With the powerful tools Context Fusion and Toolkit at their disposal, businesses can unleash the full potential of generative AI to create highly effective marketing strategies and tactics. Let's explore some specific marketing examples where Context Fusion and the Toolkit can drive success.

1. Personalized Content Creation: By integrating customer data and preferences into the LLM through Context Fusion, businesses can leverage the Toolkit to generate personalized content at scale. This includes tailored blog posts, social media captions, email newsletters, and more. With the ability to understand segments, businesses can deliver highly relevant and engaging content that resonates with their audience.

Within Merkle Northern Europe, we have the use case of the Danish real-estate chain Danbolig where personalized content creation is automated and adjusted to multiple segments. Danbolig no longer needs to write different pieces of content for neighbourhoods for each segment, as our custom LLM-driven tool does the heavy lifting for them. This saves up real time to sell more real homes.

2. Dynamic Product Recommendations: The Toolkit enables businesses to develop custom-built tools for dynamic product recommendations. By analyzing customer browsing behaviour, purchase history, and contextual information, the LLM can generate personalized product recommendations in real time. By creating a custom tool that links the LLM output with a CRM system, the output can be put into action within seconds. This not only enhances the customer shopping experience but also increases conversion rates and customer satisfaction.

3. Sentiment Analysis and Reputation Management: By integrating sentiment analysis tools into the Toolkit, businesses can effectively monitor and manage their online reputation. The LLM can analyze customer feedback, reviews, and mentions across various channels, providing valuable insights into brand perception and sentiment. The main win here is that an LLM is capable of analyzing large sets of unstructured data, and can come back with summarized issues. This enables businesses to identify areas for improvement and create action points much more quickly compared to classical sentiment analysis.

To summarize, the combination of Context Fusion and the Toolkit offers businesses a powerful arsenal of use cases that go far beyond the three above. From personalized content creation to dynamic product recommendations, targeted promotional offers, social media engagement, and reputation management, businesses can leverage these tools to deliver highly relevant and impactful marketing campaigns. By harnessing the capabilities of generative AI, businesses can unlock new levels of customer engagement, satisfaction, and marketing success.
