Merkle Network’s revolutionary interoperability protocol can help metaverses to achieve seamless connectivity and communication for better growth and profitability prospects.

Metaverse: Enticing reality of virtual World

Metaverses are becoming new growth engines in the technology space. These can be considered the next-stage evolution of social experiences which allows people and organizations to connect with each other virtually. The highlight of Metaverses is their immersive interface and the amazing fluidity with which people, communities, and businesses can interact with each other.

The coming together of the physical and virtual worlds has catalyzed the growth of the metaverse although there are many technological hurdles that need to be overcome before the metaverse becomes the mainstay of the technology domain.

The biggest among these challenges is harmonizing building blocks of the virtual world so as to achieve seamless interaction between their elements — the aspect of Interoperability. In fact, the very basic success of the metaverse projects hinges on their ability to achieve interoperability.

Interoperability: The missing link

Just like blockchain technology, the growth potential of metaverses could potentially be hampered by the lack of communication between them. Although a number of use cases in the metaverse sphere have already started demonstrating their utility, their inability to interact with each other is keeping both individual stakeholders and wider metaverses from achieving their full potential.

Consider the example of the gaming metaverse as this category is the most popular among the different segments of the virtual worlds. There are many popular gaming worlds that have been able to carve a place for themselves through their innovative play-to-earn models, the launch of native tokens, and sales of NFTs. Although quite successful in their own space, these virtual worlds do not communicate with each other and as a result, the entire ecosystem of these games and players are forced to operate in silos.

Let’s understand the logic of interoperability and why it is necessary for the growth of the metaverse ecosystem with the help of the following example: Suppose Alice is part of gaming metaverse A built on Ethereum while Bob is a regular visitor to another gaming metaverse B built on Polygon. Both these virtual worlds belong to the category of War Games and are extremely popular among the players.

Both Alice and Bob are quite happy with their gaming performance within their metaverses but now want to up their level of excitement by competing against each other or other players across the War Game category. In the absence of interoperability, these metaverses won’t be able to interact with each other and hence, any cross-metaverse communication due to the absence of communication between the underlying blockchains including competition between players won’t be possible.

Now just imagine the potential that can be realized if metaverses become capable of seamless interactions. This will enable players to get a chance to enlarge their competing domain by bringing their assets to the other Metaverse regardless of what chain they are built on. While the other stakeholders in the gaming ecosystem including developers, traders, artists, and NFTs can pursue their passion in the space without limiting themselves to any single chain and move their work to new chains as more blockchains emerge in this space.

Merkle Network: Enabling Metaverse Transition to Multiverse

There is a pressing need to equip metaverses with the ability to communicate with each other and this is exactly what the Merkle Network is facilitating with its web 3.0 Protocol. The protocol makes use of cross-chain Oracles to allow communication between different blockchain networks. In fact, Merkle is collaborating with existing metaverse projects to catapult the status of their metaverse to the multiverse for flawless connectivity, alliance, and collaboration. Following are key highlights of the Merkle Network that make it really a credible solution for interoperability of metaverses:

  • Merkle offers two-way communication between interaction networks. This means that decentralized applications can update the information from other blockchains and are also capable of updating the information on them. This two-way ability is very much relevant for the metaverse as it’ll allow the virtual worlds to retrieve and update information in a smooth and seamless manner. This interaction will ultimately help in the realization of a cross-chain multiverse where the actual interaction between all possible universes will happen and lead to a wonderful existence of core capabilities and synergies between different networks.
  • Another significant aspect that puts Merkle Network in a prominent position is its ability to offer completely safe and secure transactions. The network uses interoperable oracles that accomplish cross-chain data transfers securely. The use of interoperable oracles has opened new avenues of success for the blockchain industry. The use of the oracles has resulted in successful data transfer between the outer world and the blockchain network, and now the interoperable oracles are leading the way by facilitating the communication between the different blockchain networks. This capability can certainly become a credible base for the interoperable metaverses as these virtual worlds are also based upon blockchain networks and technology. The seamless connection between the different blockchain networks is certainly a positive step towards achieving uninterrupted communication between different metaverse networks to ultimately realize the potential of the multiverse.
  • To make sure interoperability is achieved without compromising the safety and security of the data, Merkle network works through node operators with a range of incentives/penalties associated with the process. Also, the capability of the network to handle multiple blockchain networks will allow seamless communication between metaverses built on different blockchains. Further adding to the utility of the interoperability protocol of Merkle is its network approach that allows the request to originate from either the source blockchain network or destination blockchain network. This means the metaverses connected through the Merkle network will have an opportunity to request data from and send data to source and destination networks without any interruption.

Conclusion

Interoperability is going to be one of the key elements of success for the Metaverse sphere. With the help of Merkle Network, interactions and asset transfers between different virtual worlds can be achieved. This, in turn, is expected to lead the segment to exponential growth and help stakeholders to finally achieve the tremendous opportunities of growth that lie in the realm of the multiverse system. Importantly, this communication ability with other metaverses will open new doors of opportunities for application developers, token companies, algorithm designers, and other allied partners who are an important part of the blockchain industry.

Merkle has already taken a lead in facilitating cross-chain communication and now it is moving decisively to equip the virtual worlds with the same cross-platform communication ability. Its contribution to furthering the prospects of blockchain networks by offering interoperability is today well-recognized by all prominent stakeholders in the industry. And now, expectations are high as the Merkle Network gears to take the utility and business quotient of Metaverse to Multiverse by offering its cross-chain solutions to the category.

About Merkle Network:

Merkle Network is a Web3.0 interoperability protocol that enables cross-chain transfers of blockchain assets and data between blockchains. Based on the observation that transferring assets and data between the chains has been one of the biggest challenges in the crypto space, it is proposed to solve the interoperability issue with cross-protocol that allows blockchains to communicate.
