OpenAI DevDay is an annual event of the mindblowing kind. At its inspiring pace, Sam Altman & Co. presents New Things. And they are awesome. And I say that not just because — this year’s event on 6 November 2023 has taken us to the next level.
Among other things, they presented:
- GPT-4 Turbo with 128K context awareness (the window of attention is now as big as 300 pages of a book) [and it gets cheaper]
- GPT-4 Turbo with knowledge of world events up to April 2023
- New text-to-speech models, more accurate and with more voices
- GPT-4 fine-tuning and customization
- Whisper v3 — open-sourced speech to text with even better performance — multilingual
- Copyright Shield — with built-in copyright safeguards
