I was never a big fan of Stock Image Databases. Don’t get it wrong, it isn’t going to be a rant against Stock Images, nor against Stock Photographers — the demands are here, the market as well. It’s just my opinion —I tried to avoid using Stock Images for my entire professional media life. I always created the images and took photos by myself for every piece of content. Just because stock image use is (in my opinion) an unoriginal, obvious, stereotype-filled way of visual storytelling.
An illustration of your valuable content will be (if used from Stock Libraries) used for a pharmaceutical advert and in the following article about suicide prevention.
There were even identity issues for persons who modeled for Stock Images. So, the invention of Diffusion Models (DALL-E, MidJourney, etc.) gave me more hope for renewing the Stock Image Illustration approach. Now you can illustrate your content with the perfect image.
