Let’s face it — filter bubbles are as old as mankind. Even in a cave, around a fireplace, among your own kind, we created a world for ourselves. In your favorite pub, among your friends, reading your favorite newspaper, going to your favorite bookshop with the best selection of books (provided by the bookseller) — you are constantly confronted with filter bubbles. The only right thing we could (and should!) do was expand the bubble.

Filter bubbles are as old as mankind.

With the rise of the digital world came a new challenge — dealing with all the information we’re bombarded with 24/7. So algorithms came into play — in Twitter, Facebook, and practically every digital service you use. And to be honest, I appreciated it.

I’m sorry, but I’m very curious about things (even though curiosity is supposed to kill monkeys and cats). And that is why I still live in the dystopian world of Elon Musk’s Twitter (yes, “Twitter”, I will be the last in the room to call it “X”). Having built my networks since 2008, I enjoy the vast diversity of topics, minds, opinions, and discussions — and I cannot understand why people used to say that Twitter was irrelevant or uninteresting, offering…
