Making Technology Work for Us. How the Digital Workforce of Tomorrow Will Free the Employee
The enterprises of the 21st century will onboard a versatile range of bots throughout their businesses to free up precious time and revolutionise the way we work. In a Robotic Process Automation and Artificial Intelligence world every employee will be able to forego mundane work and focus on where their talent really counts.
Employees today are working longer hours than ever before, the technology that gave us mobility and flexibility to work on the go, has also untethered our work, we can no longer log off and sign out. What was once 9–5 is now increasingly a 24-hour work day, leaving us with less and less time to actually live our lives.
Technology has thus far worked against us, it may have mobilised the work place but it has shackled the worker. However, hope is not lost, we are now on the cusp of a technological revolution that may just reverse the tides and make technology work for us at last.
That was the atmosphere in the room at the Automation Anywhere Digital Workforce Summit in Sydney last week which brought together Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Process Automation partners from across Australia and New Zealand.
More than 30% of the work we do today consists of mundane repetitive tasks that can be easily and effectively automated. We are now at the point where this technology is easily scalable, applicable and available. There is no longer a need for massive teams of data scientists and programmers to implement a digital workforce. Instead, this increasingly simplified process is now heading into the realm where it can be implemented in a matter of hours on any scale.
Todd Van Skiver, Head of Customer at Mesh AI, believes that augmentation of AI and Automation can truly enrich our businesses and change the way we work. “We now have the ability to go into any company and completely automate their customer interface with a Conversational AI platform that has the ability to truly engage the customer, we can reduce our own workloads whilst delivering a more personalised and engaging customer experience than ever before.”
Mesh AI, partnering with best of breed RPA companies like Automation Anywhere, represents a natural conversational extension of the Robotic Process Automation. Together they represent the full potential of a digital workforce that can optimise our workplaces and give us the arms, ears and eyes that our businesses need so that our own can be used to drive value and creativity.
As the conference went on it was apparent that we are on the cusp of a revolution that is set to disrupt every aspect of the workforce. As the sign that loomed above read we are finally enriching our workforce by taking the robot out of the human and putting the human into the robot.
