Clubhouse Recap | Chinese Symbols in the Metaverse (Part 2: Metaverse & Reality, Metaverse Tokenomics )
Bim:
Is the meta-universe a combination of the past, or in the future, it will be completely decoupled from the real world?
Yuetian Chen:
Do you think the atomic world is larger than the bit world, or is the bit world larger than the nuclear world? If you believe that the nuclear world is larger than the bit world, most of us in the future will be extended from the real world in three dimensions. Most of the impressions in the information world are mapping and abstraction of our natural world. NFT is nothing more than proof or mapping of all assets in the real world. It is a subset of everything we have in the real world. However, if you believe that the bit world is bigger than the atomic world, the bit world is equivalent to what we now call the three-dimensional space, and it is nothing more than the racial projection of the information world. It is probably that the information world is inherently higher-dimensional, and it is projected in a certain way in our three-dimensional space. If I want to own something, I have to prevent it from copying. This is the difference between everyone’s core judgments on the value of NFT.
Bim:
In the metaverse sector, which trend is better in your opinion?
Yuetian Chen:
It’s straightforward. What is the vision that Metaverse will achieve? As long as people who are entrepreneurs and investors in the field of Metaverse believe that the social interactions between people are fully online and virtual in the future. The ultimate vision of Metaverse is that most of our human interactions should happen in a virtual space. So, if you agree with this ultimate vision, you agree that the information world is more important than the real world. Because you may put on VR/AR glasses when you open your eyes, all the real scenes you see may not have so much information when you take off the AR glasses, and there will be no such colorful experience.
Bim:
OK. The metaverse assimilated into the real world will even envelop or erode it. Vincent and Suji, do you have some opinions about this?
Suji:
During our lifetime, many things in most nation-states will enter the metaverse, and of course, there are many uncertainties. I support Ethereum or this kind of open-public-chain ecosystem. I remember that it was March 2020, when the domestic epidemic was relatively serious, and the Covid-19 in the United States seems unserious. Then we talk about Eth 2.0. After a while, the governor of Klado came in, and the governor made a fuss, saying that if Biden takes office in the future, you can continue to work hard to decentralize. He noted that Colorado must be among the top few in this industry in the United States, or we may strive for the first state in the metaverse by using this blockchain or this technology to govern and vote.
Bim:
The last question is to assume that we can guarantee that we can entirely survive in the flesh. The brain-computer interface is also very developed. But if we want to enter this Metaverse, we need to be separated from the real world. We can ensure that our physical bodies can continue to document in this new Metaverse. This is a Yes-or-No question, and please share the reason why. Let’s start with Vincent, an independent gamer and enthusiast.
Vincent:
If it is said that there is only this binary option, then I may choose yes, and I am willing to get into it. I think that the final metaverse state should be of many different types. It may be similar to this 3A level, which is very realistic, and this is very realistic. For example, there are some pixel-style worlds, and there are also some more retro cute worlds. As long as developers are building, there are different types of such worlds. If it is such a metaverse, I am willing to stay in it. If this is a metaverse of reality mapping, I may prefer to remain in reality. Yes, this is my answer.
Suji:
I’m willing to do this, and I think I will make a revolution in the metaverse. There will be a new revolutionary movement in the metaverse.
Tony:
Let me give two examples. The first one is Xiaodao. He came to our side last Saturday to share what he wants to do recently. He is making a skin that looks like the era of fantastic voyage 2, but inside is another incredible journey. A Metaverse game star the generation of online games. He created an online game version of the tremendous nautical era, and then he can change the map, change all kinds of dialogues, and open-source it. Everyone can make a copy of themselves in it. What is this concept? This concept is related to what Vincent just said. First of all, the answer is a metaverse version of Great Voyage 2 or an open-source version. It is a pixel first, not so exquisite. Then he is lovely, especially the post-80s, post-90s have played, or know this game. Then you can make your copies of it. Each document is a dungeon, and each dungeon is like a universe.
Then the second example is that one episode of “Black Mirror” mentioned caring for the elderly. They give the elderly an option that before you die, you can go to another world to experience that world for 3 to 4 hours a day. If you are blind, or you can’t move, you can become a young girl and boy in it and experience some of the beautiful coastal beaches in life. May I ask if these coastal beaches are natural, that is not, but they are because it was made according to the coast in the memory of the elderly when they were young. It can only be said that our human nature is to like best, and these can be easily created in some virtual world. This is in line with human nature. This is what I want to say. Of course, I am willing.
Yuetian Chen:
If you don’t like to live in Metaverse, I don’t think there is a high probability that you will come here. I must have longed for that kind of life myself. Everyone in the real world will always have many rules and shackles. If these rules and restraints are in the Metaverse, they can be broken, create new possibilities, and be provided in the real world. Surprises and experiences there is a high probability that the world will be addictive. Even if you say that you don’t want to live in that world, it is natural enough to see the virtual world, and there are more surprises than the real world. Everyone will be willing to live in it. I own a company that initially made cloud games, but in cloud games, everyone knows that it involves a lot of cloud rendering technology, so they are now trying in two directions. The first is to make people in the virtual world, what is called real-time interaction.
And the second one they are trying to do is that everyone can control their Avatar and enter the Metaverse. These data can be recorded, and the recorded data can be trained theoretically and trained out of AI models. So a product you might see in the future is that when you are awake, you control the Avatar, or your friend holds the Avatar when you are awake. But when you are asleep, those Avatars can continue to replace you to complete the work in theory. When you keep using your Avatar to make more data in that world, you map your personality to the digital world. I think that is genuinely an exciting direction, and basically, you are in the Metaverse.
Bim:
Suppose you pay too much attention to the economic models of Crypto and tokens. For some continuity of the participants, will there be side effects?
Vincent:
The token has been exploring the effect of the token and has been exploring how to make the token play a suitable role or what kind of effect it produces. The game itself is funny. Axie is now a significant hidden danger that 80% to 90% of users are here to make money. If you all go out to play Axie, I believe no one will say that this game is more interesting than any other game you play. It isn’t fascinating. The distribution of this user in a fair game, or composition of users, it should be said that the vast majority of players play for the sake of playing the game itself, not for making money. There can be 10% to 20% of players who work for a money-making studio like World of Warcraft. In this economic model, the essence of it should ultimately be that you want to motivate the users who contribute to the game or the product or users who bring long-term value rather than incentivizing those who are purely making money.
Bim:
How to maintain a balance between the token economy and the fun of the game?
Yuetian Chen:
This matter depends on how you look at blockchain and Metaverse and what kind of thing it is. If you think it is equivalent to the real world and society. For example, why do you choose to participate in a social activity in the real world and community every day? Right, on the one hand, you may get spiritual encouragement. On the other hand, you get material rewards. Otherwise, why does everyone go to work? The issue you just discussed is an overheating of the economy in the virtual world. An over-hyped economic system is connected to an extensive external system like the economy of your country and the government. This kind of excessive connectivity directly causes the economies in the small world to soar and collapse rapidly. The token must be there, right? Your economic system does not need to be precisely designed. But let it spontaneously derive and evolve a relatively stable system. You can provide some essential tools, but you should not make too many regulations. You try to let him produce naturally. Then some rules allow the community to accomplish more things and play a more critical role in it.
