A Starter Guide to Meta Apes

Heard some of you are having difficulties entering the Ape World and building your city. So, all the Chief Apes huddled and came up with this starter guide. Follow the instructions as you read, and you should be good to go.

Setting up the Game

First things first, Meta Apes is a mobile-based MMO strategy game which means you can get the best experience from the game on your smartphone. Geeks can tinker, though.

If you are an Android user, download and install the application from the Play Store.

Meta Apes team just released an iOS version too. You can get the application from App Store.

Installed the game already? Now unwind for a while. Play the game till you reach Chapter 1. Simply follow the prompts, and you should set up your city in no time. Don’t skip the cutscenes, they give you the essence of the story.

Now, let’s connect your Play Store or App Store account to the game so that your progress will be saved, and you can come back to that even after uninstalling and reinstalling the game for some reason.

To do that,

1. Click on the profile icon and select Settings
2. Then go to the Account section and click Link Account
3. Link your Play Store or App Store account

Pat yourself on the back, we are done, but only with the Web2 side of Meta Apes. Meta Apes brings both Web2 and Web3 together so that you can enjoy the best of both worlds.

Let’s dive into the Web3 aspects of Meta Apes.

Setting up Wallet and Tokens

Install a Web3 wallet on your device. At the time of writing this guide, Metamask is the only supported wallet and we use the same for the demo.

Adding Ape Chain (BNB Sidechain) Network to Metamask

There are a couple of ways to do this.

In Metamask

1. Go to the Settings and select Networks
2. Then click on Add Network and fill in the following details
   a. ​Network Name: APE Chain (BNB Sidechain)
   b. RPC Url: https://bas.metaapesgame.com/bas_mainnet_full_rpc
   c. Chain ID: 16350
   d. Symbol: PEEL
   e. Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.bas.metaapesgame.com/
3. Click Add. APE Chain Network should be added to your Metamask wallet. You can switch through the Networks by clicking on Wallet at the top of the Metamask wallet interface.

Through Meta Apes Marketplace

1. Copy and Paste the marketplace URL (https://plat.metaapesgame.com/market) into the browser of the Metamask application
2. Click on Change Network and select APE Chain
3. Click Approve on the next prompt and the APE Chain Network will be added
4. Click on Switch Network, and that’s it.

Importing $PEEL on BSC or APE Chain to Your Metamask Wallet

1. Click on Import Tokens in the Wallet section of your Metamask application
2. Paste 0x734548a9e43d2D564600b1B2ed5bE9C2b911c6aB in the Token Address field and the application should automatically fill the remaining fields
3. Click on IMPORT, and PEEL on the APE Chain is added to your Metamask.

We’re almost there, just a few more steps.

Connecting Metamask With Meta Apes Game

Time for you to go back to the game. Collect any rewards that you’ve earned in the meanwhile.

1. Click on the profile icon and select NFT
2. Click on the APE Chain or any other blockchain wallet you wanna connect, and it opens up the Metamask application
3. On the prompt, click Connect
4. You will be redirected to the game, and your Metamask wallet is connected to the game. If you failed here, please join our Discord and open a ticket. We would be more than happy to help.
