Our Liquid Staking Token mpETH will be available on Linea
A few days back we announced our Milestones for Q2, you might have noticed that we are starting to support L2's on Ethereum. We have been working with EVM chains since the beginning when we supported Aurora in 2022.
We are strong believers in a multichain ecosystem and we have been working non-stop for the last year with some excellent teams on Ethereum, from our partnership with SSV Networks to launch liquid staking on Ethereum mainnet and also other EVM compatible chains such as Q blockchain.
So when we met with the Linea team in ETHDenver, we knew that we had found a great partner to collaborate in working together to onboard users in what we are describing as frontier markets; these countries are sitting on the border of mass adoption for blockchain technology.
Our mpETH liquid staking token on Linea
What we want to deliver on Linea is an accessible liquid staking token for mass adoption, we have done this before and this started with our collaboration with Aurora in which we allow staking of wrapped NEAR tokens on the native L2 and minting of the liquid staking token stNEAR.
The development team is working on using the same tested and audited contract that will allow anyone with wETH tokens on Linea to stake natively on the Ethereum blockchain.
This will open the possibility of staking on Linea without paying high gas fees.
For now, the mpETH token has been natively bridged using the canonical bridge supported by the Linea core team. We understand that it is still not the optimal solution, we want to allow our community that is holding our liquid staking token an opportunity to explore the Linea ecosystem.
In our milestones we will be working with some great technologies that the Linea team is offering to ecosystem partners and we will be announcing them in our next Community call on April 24th, follow us on X for more information.
