The one you’ve all been waiting for, the quest that supersedes all the rest is finally going down. Once we learned that ETHParis was canceled, we decided a virtual hackathon is just the ticket to ease the pain. Starting April 1st and this ain’t no joke — we’re inviting you to Enter-the-Dragon for 30 days of distributed development kung-fu 🐉

MetaCartel is a global community, with a remote first focus.

We believe that the best teams and builders come from everywhere and anywhere, thus a virtual hackathon is the perfect way to welcome people from anywhere to team up, learn together, and build cool stuff.

A common misconception around the world is that ‘hacking’ specifically means coding or software development. This is simply not true! To prove it we’re inviting all hackers to join us on this quest! Whether you’re a designer, marketer, illustrator or hold any of a plethora of other skills, we want you! Hackathon bounties include non-technical hacks so throw on your creative hats and join us on this creative, rewarding, and world changing journey!

We are not just looking for hackers, we are looking for artists, writers, philosophers, bloggers, gamers, designers, game designers and beyond. If you’ve got ideas and want to collaborate with a community of inspired individuals, we want you to join in.

The focus of this hackathon is about delivering an exceptional experience through an entirely virtual panel of judges, sponsors, and hackers. MetaCartel is driving Web3 adoption and championing the community of builders that make the Ethereum Ecosystem such an amazing place to work. We believe virtual events are more inclusive, sustainable, and create an easier way for participants to get involved so the MetaCartel ecosystem is proud to sponsor this event.

Oh and the prizes, of course, there will be prizes, plenty of prizes such as creative bounties from sponsors Ie: “Create the most novel XYZ, potentially utilizing project ABC.” And the overall winners (1st-5th) will all receive loot for being selected by the Grandmasters. Some of the considerations that will go into judging are going to be UX, Uniqueness/Creativity, Impact/Usefulness, User Validation, Product/Market Fit, and more. We’re currently reviewing a host of bounties from our sponsors and accepting more here.

The goal of The Dragon Quest Hackathon is to rip the lid off the traditional hackathon framework, encourage maximum collaboration, maximize cross-pollination of ideas, and more importantly have the most FUN while doing it.

We want to see your kung-fu skillz, not just the ninja developers, we want the karate copy writers, the origami artists, and the ikebana community organizers. It takes all kinds to build robust systems that are elegant and balanced in both form and function. We love builders and useful tools but people are always first and community is the Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique of the MetaCartel.
