Introduction

  • This article will explain how to download the CoolWallet from the App store and add the MetaCert Token (MCT) on the Binance BNB Chain.
  • MetaCert’s CEO, Paul Walsh, and Michael Ou, the founder and CEO of CoolBitX, have been acquaintances since 2018. Over time, their relationship grew stronger, and they collaborated on an integration with CoolBitX that verified cryptocurrency addresses. However, with their new smart contracts and community portal on the horizon, MetaCert is now preparing to restart its wallet address verification service in the near future.
  • In the meantime, MetaCert continues to verify various other types of online assets and resources, such as websites, login pages, software downloads, APIs, chatbots, and user accounts. Their verification service covers almost every kind of URL, and this reflects their commitment to securing the internet and enhancing user safety.
  • CoolBitX has a proven track record, thanks to a very solid engineering team with cybersecurity experience in the finance sector.
  • An added bonus is that CoolBitX has an app that anyone can download immediately. Users can also order a card for cold storage from inside the app, if they wish. Furthermore, the same app allows you to swap between a hot wallet and cold wallet with just the tap of a button.
  • For more detailed information on CoolBitX and CoolWallet please visit their website here.

A good introduction to CoolWallet can be viewed in the following video

A short video from the CEO and Founder, Michael Ou

Download & Setup The CoolWallet App (Hot Wallet)

  • Firstly go to the App Store and type in ‘CoolWallet’ which will then bring you to the following page:
  • Download the App to your iOS device which will appear on your phone as follows:
  • Tap on the App icon, you will now be asked if you would like CoolWallet to send you notifications, see below photo:
  • Once you have clicked on ‘Don’t Allow’ or ‘Allow’ you will be taken to the following page:
  • I will assume nobody has a CoolWallet card set up (CoolWallet S & Pro).
  • Proceed to click on the bottom tab ‘No, not yet. Setup Hot Wallet’ which will take you to the following page:
  • Proceed to click on ‘Create a New Wallet’ which will take you to the following page:
  • You now need to create a password, note the requirements. You also have the option to ‘Enable Biometric Authentication’ such as logging in with Touch ID etc.
  • Once you have entered a password that you will remember and confirmed it below, you can either leave biometric authentication enabled or select to turn it off. After making your choice, you need to click the box at the bottom of the page before clicking the ‘Next’ tab.

Please refer to the following photo for more information:

  • After clicking on the ‘Next’ tab, you will be directed to the following page regarding your Recovery Phrase:
  • After reading the details, click on the ‘X’ to close the window. You will then be able to see your 12-word recovery phrase.

⛔️ Stop right here! Please write down your 12-word recovery phrase in the exact order shown. Then store it as if it’s your passport with a $100,000 cheque inside. Where would you put that?

  • Afterward, click on the ‘Next’ tab. You will then be directed to the following page.
  • Please enter your recovery phrase in the same order as you wrote it down, by tapping on each word listed at the bottom of the page and filling in the required fields.
  • Once you have entered the recovery phrase correctly, you will be directed to the following page:
  • Click on the ‘Ok’ tab which will take you to the following page where you can see your wallet has been set up:
  • We now need to add the MetaCert Token (MCT) on the Binance BNB Chain.
  • Ensure that the ‘Hot Wallet’ tab is selected as shown in the photo above, this should already be selected by default.
  • Make sure that you are on the ‘Wallet’ tab located at the bottom of the screen. Next, click on the ‘Manage’ tab located in the middle of the right-hand side of the screen as seen below:
  • Once you have clicked on the manage tab you will be taken to the following page where you can manage your wallet, see below:
  • Now click on the + symbol in the top right corner which will direct you to a page where you can add a custom token, see below:
  • Click on the 2nd tab, ‘Add Custom Token’ which will take you to a page where you can enter ‘Custom Token’ and ‘Custom Network’ details, see below:
  • Please note that the ‘Network’ currently says Ethereum (ERC-20). Since we will be using the Binance BNB Chain, we need to change this setting.
  • If you click on the ‘Ethereum (ERC-20)’ tab, you will see a list of networks to choose from, as shown below:
  • You can see that the third token listed is ‘Binance Smart Chain’. Click on this tab, and it will select the Binance Smart Chain for use. Once you have done this, you will be redirected back to the ‘Custom Token’ page. Here, you will see that ‘Binance Smart Chain’ is now selected as the network, as shown in the photo below.
  • As you can see, we were able to add the Binance BNB Chain from a predetermined list. If you ever need these network settings, they are as follows:
  1. Network Name: Smart Chain
  2. New RPC URL: https://bsc-dataseed.binance.org/
  3. ChainID: 56
  4. Symbol: BNB
  5. Block Explorer URL: https://bscscan.com
  • You will now be required to paste the Token Contract Address in the required field. Please note that the custom token details for MCT are as follows:
  1. Contract Address: 0x2aDC5723085f8FB30BF464e035CBf699aA551765
  2. Token Symbol: MCT
  3. Token Decimal: 18
  • Copy and paste the contract address into the required field. Note that you may get a pop-up window asking for permission to perform this function, as shown below. This may happen if you have saved the contract address in an application like Telegram or any other messaging app.
  • Once you have pasted the contract address into the required field you will see the MCT token details appear, see below:
  • Now click on the ‘Add’ tab at the bottom of the screen, see below photo:
  • You will now be taken to the ‘Manage Wallet’ page where you will see that the MetaCert Token (MCT) has been added on the Binance Smart Chain network, see below photo:
  • If you now click on the < arrow you will be taken back to your main ‘Wallet’ tab where you can see the tokens you have listed in your wallet including MCT, see below:
  • If you now click on the ‘Receive’ tab in the middle of the page you will see the following:
  • You now have the option to choose a crypto asset you would like to receive, obviously we want to receive MCT so proceed to click on that tab which will then display your MCT deposit address, see below:
  • You now can receive and send MCT within the CoolWallet.
  • I will not go into detail with other wallet functions in this article such as the Marketplace, History and Settings tabs.

Conclusion

  • It is worth noting that MetaCert recommends using the Brave browser alongside their browser-based security service. They are currently revamping the service and have made it available exclusively to MetaCert members for beta testing. To join the list, simply reach out to hello@metacert.com.

This recommendation is after MetaCert are satisfied with the functionality of the Brave extension.

  • Although MetaCert recommends using CoolWallet for reasons mentioned in the introduction you have other options available if you prefer. Please refer to the options below.
  • Please make sure that your wallet supports the addition of a custom network as well as a custom token, as not all wallets have both features available.

Can I Store My MCT In My Vinci Wallet

  • Please note that you can not store your MCT tokens in the Vinci wallet as they can not be stored on the Binance BNB Chain.
  • If you currently hold MCT tokens in the Vinci wallet they are on the CoDEX blockchain so effectively will be removed, as stated above if you purchased MCT in the Vinci wallet please email avinash.pandit@integral.com and harpal@codexlabs.org for a refund.
