We have decided to retire the MetaCert security integration for email to provide more focus on our flagship product

We’ve had to make a tough decision about our security integration for email.

Unfortunately, the potential cost for the email security infrastructure down the road is likely to be cost prohibitive. So we must bring it to an end. And from the feedback we received, most companies aren’t prepared to proxy their email through a third-party.

As a startup, we must always remain focused on the most important solutions that our customers want and need most. While people love the email security, we believe our security solution for Macs and PCs adds so much value already, that we should focus only on that one thing — at least until MetaCert has been installed by every Small to Medium sized business and every home in the world. 💪

Our focused approach will also free up more time and resource to make our established flagship solution easier for Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to sell to their customers. And, we can continue to make that software better.

What will happen to the email security service…

The shields will all turn grey on June 20th — no more Green Shield to tell you what’s safe to open. And all of your email will be removed from our servers on June 30th.

PLEASE make sure to setup your old default email as soon as you can, by following the email setup instructions for your device, to ensure you have continuity. And remove the MetaCert email account.

More about our flagship product

Since its release in December 2017, not a single person has ever fallen for a dangerous link while using this browser-based security solution — and specifically; not a single phishing victim.

You can try MetaCert for Mac and PC for free — it supports Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Brave. It takes 30 seconds to install, and 1 minute to learn how to use it. And it does not use any analytics or spy on your activity in any way. We really hate that kind of thing.

Our websites don’t do us any justice as they were never used for new biz dev. But this is changing. So our websites will be updated in the next two weeks.

We provide a discount for businesses, so please reply to this email to learn more. And if you would like to resell MetaCert to your customers, please also get in touch.

I’m sorry…

I’m really sorry if you have come to love the email security.

We own a portfolio of issued patents around in-app WebView anti-phishing security, so you probably won’t see a client-based solution similar to this for mobile email, unless it comes from us in the future. And I hope it will. I have ideas on how we can build a lightweight solution for mobile devices that doesn’t require email proxies. But I’ll only drop this on my team when we have more time and resource.

We’re in the middle of fundraising too, so that’s another reason to remain focused on our core product and technology.
