We have been tirelessly working over the last couple of months to deliver the next version of Keepin with additional features and we are happy to announce that Keepin v1.3 is now available on Google Play Store and it will soon be available on the App Store.
The process to get the latest version of Keepin is easy:
New Users:
- Go to Google Play Store
- Search for Keepin
- Download and follow the setup guide
Existing Users
- Open the Keepin App
- Click on Update when the pop up appears

What’s New
1. Identity Hub
As promised, this version of Keepin is connected to a new service: the Identity Hub. We’ve talked about it in more detail in the educational series we created about Self-Sovereign Identity and Decentralized Identifiers. In short, Identity Hub is a decentralized, off-chain, personal datastore that puts control over personal data in the hands of the users. It allows users to store their sensitive data — identity information, official documents, app data, etc. — in a way that prevents anyone from using their data without their explicit permission and enables the user to share verified information with other members of the network.
We are creating a service ready environment. Once the service providers are onboard, you will be able to access the services and share the information that you want while knowing exactly who has access to your information.
2. Data Verification
To share information, data has to be verified. With new Keepin v1.3, you are able to share your verified data as many times as needed. Keepin supports phone number (currently for Korean citizens only) and email verification at the moment.
3. Data Storage
Keepin v1.3 supports the storage of your Passport and Student ID information. Once you input your information, it will be stored on your device only, encrypted and connected to your META ID (your decentralized ID). Read more about decentralized ID (DID) in our educational series. We will be continuously adding more types of credential options to store.
What’s Next
DIDaaS
Metadium is focusing on a more specialized business model focusing on identity access management for B2B/B2B2C: DIDaaS (Decentralized Identity as a Service). This will be included in the new version of Keepin to facilitate bringing new services and partners to the ecosystem.
Service Providers
We are working on onboarding reliable and innovative service providers to open access to verified information sharing and exchange. The Keepin app and the Identity Hub provide an infrastructure for DID information exchange in a trustworthy, transparent and protected manner. These are the pillars of true self-sovereign identity system.
Claim & Achievement
As we onboard new ecosystem players, the claim and achievement feature will roll out allowing you to make claims and get rewarded for your achievements. Please refer to the following video for details about the claim and achievement feature.
Metadium and all the solutions powered by Metadium comply with the latest data privacy policies, making our solutions safe for users and service providers. Metadium Decentralized Identifier (DID) has been officially registered at the W3C-CCG DID Method Registry as a new Decentralized Identifier Method. We are a member of the Decentralized ID Foundation along with various industry leaders including Microsoft, Master Card, and IMB, united in our goal to return ownership of your identity back to you.
Make sure to update your Keepin app now. Download Keepin on Google Play if you haven’t done so yet and protect your identity.
