Metadium joins the Decentralized Identity Foundation

Hello dear Metadium community members,

We are happy to announce that Metadium is joining the Decentralized Identity Foundation (DIF), adding its name to big players like Microsoft and IBM. Metadium is expected to broaden the identity ecosystem by collaborating with upcoming global projects.

“To build an effective ecosystem, collaboration is essential. Like all other projects, an identity project can not stand alone to build the ideal ecosystem. Metadium will build an identity platform and service that can be used worldwide by utilizing protocols and an open source shared through DIF. Metadium will constantly collaborate with other companies who share our vision.” announced Justin Park, Metadium’s CEO.

By joining the foundation, Metadium is not only reinforcing its commitment to follow the current DID standards but also to be part of the research and development of any future changes applying to them.

About DIF

The Decentralized Identity Foundation is an engineering-driven organization focused on developing the foundational elements necessary to establish an open ecosystem for decentralized identity and ensure interoperability between all participants.

At the moment, DIF is looking for ways to identify individuals without requiring physical IDs. The use of biometrically recognized information is also under study. These kinds of solutions will be especially helpful for individuals who are not able to store and keep physical IDs; for example, refugees.

Along Microsoft and IBM, a number of blockchain projects have joined DIF. Some of these blockchain projects are uPort by ConSensys, Sovrin, civic, Ontology, and now, Metadium.
