Metadium Testnet Hard Fork Update

Dear Metadium Community,

We are excited to announce the upcoming implementation of the Bokbunja hard fork in testnet, a transformative upgrade to elevate the Metadium network to new heights.

The following outlines the schedule for the Bokbunja hard fork in testnet and provides details of the forthcoming updates to the Metadium network.

Testnet Hard Fork Details

• Expected date of implementation: 2023–09–26 12pm KST

Updates

1. The method of selecting block miners will be improved.

• To enhance decentralization in miner selection, changes are being made to allow miners to be selected more diversely by using lockable tokens in etcd.

2. The block miner verification method will be enhanced.

• Block miners will now sign not just using the root hash of the block header but also including the block number in their signatures.
• Block miner signature verification will be conducted using the governance contract.

3. A new transaction type for fee delegation will be added.

• New transaction types and RPC APIs will be introduced to support fee delegation functionality.

개발 상세내용

1. 블록 마이너의 선정 방식이 개선됩니다.

• 마이너 선정이 더욱 탈중앙화 되도록, etcd에서 Lock 가능한 토큰을 이용하여 마이너가 더 다양하게 선정되도록 변경됩니다.

2. 블록 마이너의 검증 방식이 개선됩니다.

• 블록 마이너가 서명 시 블록 헤더의 루트해시를 사용해서 서명하던 방식에서 블록 넘버까지 포함하여 서명하는 방식으로 변경됩니다.
• 블록 마이너의 서명 검증 시 거버넌스 컨트랙트를 이용하여 검증하는 것으로 변경됩니다.

3. 수수료 대납 트랜잭션 타입이 추가 됩니다.

• 수수료 대납 기능을 제공하기 위한 신규 트랜잭션 타입 및 RPC API가 추가됩니다.
