New node rewards will come into force on June 11
Dear community,
As we have recently announced, the new approach in distributing the node rewards will be soon implemented. As stated before, the geo factor will now be used in order to balance the node network and stimulate the owners of those nodes which are more needed for the network’s evenly distribution.
Every server will be attributed to one of three geo zones: Asia, Americas, and Europe. The reward will now be assigned considering the geo factor and will be composed of two parts: the fixed share and the geo share.
Here is how 40% node rewards pool will be distributed for peer nodes starting from June 11:
- 34% which is a fixed share pool will be distributed proportionally to the amount of coins delegated to servers
- 2% + 2% + 2% which are geo shares of Asia, Americas, and Europe clusters will be assigned to peer servers attributed to these zones proportionally to the amount of coins delegated inside the zone. For example, if there is only one server in the Americas cluster with 100k delegated coins it will get all 2% of the Americas geo share reward. If there are 2 servers in Asia cluster with 9m of delegated coins on the first one and 1m on the second, they will get 1.8% and 0.2% respectively.
With the upcoming release of the Infrastructure Torrent Node the torrent geo shares will be added and the fixed share pool will be reduced:
- 28% which is a fixed share pool will be distributed proportionally to the amount of coins delegated to servers
- Number of geo shares, each of 2%, will increase from 3 to 6: 2% + 2% + 2% for peer nodes and 2% + 2% + 2% for torrent nodes.
The upcoming update on June 11 will also have the following changes:
- The performance factor will become 1 for all nodes and will not be used for reward distribution anymore. Instead, the minimum performance factor of 2k RPS for peer nodes will be introduced — those having the lower factor will not be rewarded.
- The geo factor is now called geo-cluster.
- In which geo-cluster the server lands depends on the best test result from all geo testers.
-Server forging testing will now be performed by one tester only in each zone.
