Evolution of Metaisland
Upgrade from Unreal Engine 4 to 5
Metaisland Gamefi Project was previously built using Unity Technology. The creator’s vision was to develop a realistic island that would integrate blockchain technology & NFT utilities. It also needed to have social element where users can play, own & earn, or hang out with friends.
Nicolas Choukroun, CEO of Metaisland worked hard on this vision for nearly five months, but disaster struck! Nicolas faced technical issues when the development software updated to Unity 2017.3. It forced him to make a drastic move to Unreal Engine 4.

Switching to Unreal Engine
As soon as Nicolas adopted and switched to Unreal Engine 4, it was proven to be an instant success! A much more superior and stable software to build his dream project. Blueprint and material editor worked like a charm. The output was impressive.
UE4 to UE5
Around April 2022, Unreal Engine announced its new release of the version 5. For Nicolas this was music to his ears, and he instantly adopted the latest version and found the best results that aligned his vision of his metaverse.
