Fall in, Scrubs! Let’s get an eagle eye on what’s in the pipe for MetalCore. Some huge improvements and new ways to play are on their way.

The team has been hard at work processing player feedback, and today we’d like to share some insight as to where MetalCore gameplay is heading.

Spoiler Alert: It’s gonna get even more awesome.

Bigger Hunting Grounds

Traditionally, the Korani region of Kerberos has consisted of a large swath of PvE territory and a smaller PvP area in the center. This will be modified to allow players to fight each other all over the map, save for a small radius around main Faction bases. That means more diverse PvP battlefields and less repetition in PvP gameplay.

Domination mode will send factions to singular map points, with the whole server converging to capture a critical area or structure. These key points will randomize over time, sending you all over various terrain and throwing you into fresh and fun PvP skirmishes throughout the whole map.

Guess Who’s Back (Back Again)

You may have noticed after each death you need to traverse through multiple screens to access the map and choose where to respawn. We’ll be adding an alternative feature that gets you right back into the fight with a respawn countdown.

Cancel the countdown anytime to choose where to respawn. Otherwise, you’ll automatically redeploy at the nearest available spawn point. Did your faction recently take over a nearby small or medium outpost? You’ll automatically redeploy right there- wherever is closest to your death location.

Toys With Noise

Crafting a vehicle after hours of scavenging is a rewarding experience. MetalCore has dozens of vehicles to choose from (with the full variant list possibly exceeding 100? 👀). We’ve been polishing these vehicles and improving their various systems.

Less practical weapons systems such as chainsaws and drills will be retired, and aiming and targeting systems will be overhauled. Under-equipped vehicles will be decked out with the lastest in Kerberos tech. Every vehicle variant will have its role to play and its place on the battlefield (and sorry Glaivers- your pink lasers are in our crosshairs for a balancing adjustment 😂).

Live, Laugh, Loot

Looting will become more purposeful, and better loot will be awarded for critical in-game actions like missions or boss kills. Farming cannon fodder will no longer be the most effective way to craft your next favorite vehicle- instead, you’ll be able to keep your pulse pounding as you perform heroic acts for that coveted blueprint component or resource.

More Funner with a Gunner

It’s finally on the way! Certain vehicles with multiple weapons systems and passenger capacity will gain the ability to have gunner players. Jump into your compatriot’s vehicle and unleash hell as they take you straight into the fight (or out of harm’s way). That means more cooperative gameplay and a more enjoyable ride for the passenger 😎

Let’s Get Dangerous

Life is hard for a footsoldier on Kerberos. Once you’re surrounded by hundreds of tons of steel though, AI infantry don’t stand a chance against your mechanized might. Bad news, Scrub- AI bandits are ‘teching up’ and coming after YOU.

A diverse roster of additional AI war machines are about to deploy to the planet surface (ranging from deadly to terrifyingly deadly). That Zephyr Trainer you just hopped into just might get shredded like tuna, so be sure to employ all your combat tactics to stay alive.

School’s in Session

MetalCore has some excellent onboarding missions for soldiers making planetfall for the first time- the Prologue and Garage missions get you up to speed in short order.

We’ll be expanding this experience to the main server as well, not just offline. New recruits will be able to gain even more insight into MetalCore in-game systems and our Domination <> Open Combat gameplay loop.

Prepare for War

Keep your eyes open for these features and more coming to MetalCore in the near future. Will you seize all the glory that awaits you? Pre-register for Open Beta now and stand by for your orders.
