Metalyfe Announces Strategic Partnership with Gath3r
Toronto, ON, May 20thth, 2019, Metalyfe, a decentralized web browser with a focus on privacy, security and data ownership is excited to announce a strategic partnership with Gath3r, the next era of web monetization with decentralized blockchains, and merged mining.

The “new internet” that was famously proposed on the hit HBO show, Silicon Valley is much closer to becoming a reality than people think. The biggest hurdle is creating decentralized protocols and applications that are just as easy to use as the web is today. Anyone can publish whatever they want to the web. But without Facebook and Google, will anyone be able to find it? In some countries, a single state-owned telco controls internet access completely. Given those very non-utopian realities, the teams at Metalyfe and Gath3r are hard at work trying to rebuild the internet in a way that comes closer to the decentralized ideal.
The primary focus in the early stages of development for Metalyfe was focused on privacy and security. As we move towards empowering our users to own their data, and monetize their time online, a partnership with Gath3r only seemed natural. Leveraging computation resources stems from the realization that just about everyone carries around a smartphone with hundreds of times more computing power than the machines that sent humans to the moon.

The partnership between the two platforms will allow Metalyfe to use Gath3r’s web mining features within their browser, creating an additional revenue stream for users of Metalyfe. Users will have the option to allow background spare computational mining or not, while being indemnified for it should they choose to allow it.
In turn, Gath3r will benefit from the generated revenues in the form of a commission, as well as having our technology propagated into yet another external ecosystem. At no point will there be any data collection implied in the whole process.
