Identity is one of the foundational cornerstones of each internet generation. Throughout the development of the centralized internet, humanity accumulated a vast amount of valuable data for identity construction. In addition, a lot of information lies in real-world interactions. In the era of Web 3.0, we observe the potentiality of uniting all scattered data values in a decentralized, privacy-preserving, and user-autonomous manner.

This is why we present MBuddy, a Web 3.0+ identity infrastructure that seamlessly connects the real world, traditional internet, and blockchain.

Meet MBuddy Portal in its first application scenario: decentralized community growth

In the past, we have applied MBuddy technology to help more than ten Web 3.0 partners grow community size and amplify marketing impact using a data-backed approach without undermining the decentralized nature. This solution has become increasingly popular during the bear market. In the effort of sharing the benefit of decentralized community growth with more Web 3.0 entities, we built a configurable portal that allows projects to customize their data insight packages to support campaigns and long-term community growth strategies.

You can check out the list of ready-to-use algorithms here.

How it works

MBuddy renounced traditional data collection and data value extraction approaches. Instead, it gives data control and data rights back to individual owners. Users initiate data sharing under full-stack privacy preservation for personal good. Read more about how it works here.

Using MBuddy Portal, Web 3.0 entities first create a Space to host data sharing for this specific project.

Under this Space, the Space keepers may select a package of algorithms according to their community growth strategies. This may include a list of tasks users are asked to do to support the community growth strategy of a project.

Upon completion of cross-platform tasks on both Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 internet, users share data insights with Space keeper by generating MBuddy at the project Space.

A few notes on the privacy control during this process:

  • Users’ raw data is stored and computed in a privacy-preserving on-chain environment under their own wallet account. Only users themselves can access the raw data. The data is not “shared with MetaMirror” or “shared with Space keeper”.
  • Space keepers and users are the only entities who have access to the compute results of the Space algorithms. Users may further leverage the computed result in other situations.

The future of MBuddy identity

MBuddy has infinite use cases in Web 3.0+. Essentially, in all scenarios where data-backed insight is appreciated. As a kick-off, the application of MBuddy takes on relatively simple blockchain events, such as airdrop, GameFi, NFT, and more. We listed a few in the MetaMirror whitepaper.

As the Web 3.0+ ecosystem continues to grow, we expect more refined and customized applications. To support this vision, we will provide MBuddy APIs to allow developers to define their own identity attributes based on a wide range of data sources.
