Education is a process in which and by which the knowledge, characters and behavior of the human being are shaped and molded, leading to the enlightenment of mankind. However, there are some problems in education, which has a large space for development and improvement:

Within schools, salaries, work performance, performance appraisal, major decision announcement and other information of teachers and staff are not transparent, and intercommunication and sharing are not timely; Also, among schools, the existing education resources are scattered, greatly blocked to be shared.

On the side of students, their identity, academic status, formal learning activities such as professional courses and assigned homework, informal learning activities including training activities, provincial or national competitions, research, internship experiences, community services, etc., content of examination papers, examination results, competition certificates, honorary titles, and other data also need to be open, transparent, immutable and traceable.

(1)Under the current situation where data intercommunication is blocked, blockchain supports the decentralization of the network by its point-to-point transmission, making information of teachers and students, learning resources and other data can be freely transmitted, to enhance the connectivity of resources.

Firstly, rationally allocate teachers in different areas with different level of knowledge and expertise, to appropriate colleges; Secondly, colleges can connect students with special strengths, subject or technical advantages; Finally, the sharing of teaching resources has increased the education quality in underdeveloped districts. All in all, with the help of the blockchain, scattered educational resources and information are effectively aggregated, information barriers between different universities and different regions are broken, and here we realize healthy data intercommunication and sharing.

There is a common choice to upload and transmit the data on the blockchain. However, considering data is always small-scale, incomplete, fragmented, single, irregular, and temporary, we believe that the aggregate of data is much more valuable for analysis. Therefore. First, upon graduation or after a stage of the study, a personal electronic information database is formed, which will become a personal resume for job interviews, intuitive and true; Secondly, it indirectly enhances the fairness of relevant audits by teachers; Thirdly, it guarantees the authenticity of student performances or certificates, which is an important reference for the recruit and selection of talents by colleges and employers. There have been some effective attempts in the blockchain field: The Media Lab of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology has developed a learning certificate platform using blockchain technology.

Data+Privacy Computing

However, projects like Massachusetts’s still have problems. Due to the openness and transparency of data brought by blockchain, relevant private information of teachers and students is exposed to the public view. What if we can prove the authenticity and validity of the data, without revealing the data privacy? This is undoubtedly the right direction for future development.
