Good, Bad, Who Knows
A short story with a big message
There was a man with a son. They lived in a modest home in a beautiful valley with lush green pastures. They were dirt poor but they could see the potential in the land around them. They decided it would be a good investment to start breeding horses. They had to borrow from the neighbors but they bought their first stallion and were very excited for the road ahead.
They very same night they brought their new stallion home and put him in the pasture, there was a big storm and the stallion found a weak spot in the fence and ran away.
The neighbors said to him, “you wanted to be a rich man but your stallion has run away. You still owe us money, this is really bad. You are in deep and you have no way of getting out of it.”
The man just shrugged his shoulders and said, “good thing bad thing who knows.”
The next day the man and his son fixed the fence. They went out working in their fields and they saw their stallion in the distance! Only now it had befriended a dozen wild horses. They were able to corral all of them back to their farm.
So they went from having nothing to having thirteen horses, which at that time in that village made them a very wealthy family.
