Metaverse Bay Area Meetup
On May 7th, the Metaverse core team, led by CEO Eric Gu, had a meetup with community fans and supporters in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The meetup was organized by Metaverse’s Bay Area ambassador, Manlin Dai. In addition to the Metaverse team, ParcelX founder Shunri Guo and Bitbank founder Chandler Guo were invited to interact with supporters.
In his talk, Eric explained the origin of the Metaverse project name, which is derived from the science fiction novel Snow Crash by American author Neal Stephenson, as well as the idea of the Oasis from the popular Stephen Spielberg film Ready Player One. The theme behind this discussion was that the world we live in is increasingly coming to resemble the worlds these science fiction works describe. One current trend that will undoubtedly shape the new reality that is forming is the digitization of more and more assets, and Metaverse is working at the forefront of this change.
In his talk, Eric also shared the concept of Metaverse Improvement Proposals (MIPs). MIPs can be submitted in order to propose and describe standards for the Metaverse platform, including core protocol specifications, client APIs, and contract standards. Those who have their MIPs adopted can be rewarded. The MIPs procedure is displayed below:
As a hub for scientific and technological talents, the Bay Area was an ideal location to spread the word about this opportunity, and Eric encourages everyone to propose drafts to Metaverse.
During the Q&A, Eric answered questions posed by the Telegram community regarding the Metaverse marketing plan. He expressed that Metaverse will continue with its Ambassador Program and that meetups will begin to spread globally. This program will be helpful in galvanizing the Metaverse community by gathering supporters offline to discuss development, consensus etc.
