On September 7–9, Tencent will launch the annual “99 Charity Day” in support of various charities throughout China. During the 3 days of the event, all of the companies who participate in the charity donation will have the opportunity to receive 99.99 million RMB (~$15 million USD), donated by Tencent, to their designated charity. Metaverse was invited by Tencent to participate in this year’s public welfare initiative, and we strongly support what Tencent is doing to help local communities. We hope that with our own actions, we can implant the creed of public service to our community and friends.

Since the launch of “99 Charity Day” by Tencent in 2015, the social influence of this activity has expanded rapidly, and the number of donations and total amount raised have at least doubled every year. This year, Metaverse enters the National Charity Day in the hopes that through positive social impact and new media platforms, more people will have the chance to experience public philanthropy. This will allow philanthropy to permeate public life, and we hope that this in turn will provide a low barrier of entry and efficient way for partners to contribute to charity.

Metaverse expresses the hope that by participating in such large-scale public welfare activities, and with the support of many partners, this campaign will connect recipients, donors, non-profit organizations, companies, celebrities, and hundreds of millions of users through mobile donations and socialization interactions. We hope this initiative will arouse the enthusiasm of the community to care about and participate in philanthropy, and create an extraordinary public welfare day for all people to participate.

Over the past year, Metaverse has actively carried out social responsibility with concrete actions and participated in many public welfare activities. As early as 2017, the Metaverse team started the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) volunteer activities and traveled to the Shanghai Children’s Medical Center to visit the affected children.

In February 2018, the 1 year anniversary of the launch of Metaverse, we partook in a “Do You Know Me?” project, an online Q&A forum to talk about autism and how this disease affects children worldwide. We are grateful that major blockchain media like Jinse and Chainfor supported us in this initiative and helped us spread the word about autism and best care practices.

“Do You Know Me” Campaign to Care for Autistic Children

In April 2018, Metaverse teamed up with the Shanghai Blue Ribbon Autism Care Center to visit the Shanghai Children’s Rehabilitation Training Center. We interacted closely with autistic children, accompanied them to music lessons and physical education classes, and gave the children blessings and carefully prepared gifts. Many children with autism need family care all year round, and they cannot take care of themselves. We hope that these children can be optimistic about facing everything in their lives, to live a happy life.

Last weekend, the Metaverse team provided volunteering services for the 2018 Mentally Disabled National Volleyball Tournament. At the scene, we saw many children who we had accompanied last year. Most of them still remember us. We cannot help but feel that our past efforts have not been in vain. Metaverse will continue to fulfill our social responsibilities and continue on the path of public welfare.

The Metaverse team is a mission-oriented blockchain team that always adheres to the principles of innovative technology and giving back to society. In the future, we hope to use Metaverse blockchain technology to help charities track donations, so that the “blockchain+” charities can build a bridge of trust for society.

We hope you will join us in our drive this year to help out as many children afflicted by autism as we can. Click here to access the Tencent Donation page (mobile link through WeChat). Thank you for your continued support!
