Hi Metaverse Community,

Today we have some exciting news to share! MyETPWallet has been updated to version 0.7.2!

What’s new in this version?

  • MST creation support MST mining option
  • Added the ETP bridge, to buy and sell ETP via SWFT
  • Added a loading page in order to improve performances

The ETP bridge is intended to facilitate the exchange of ETP and major cryptocurrencies directly from the wallet.

Problem of Buying ETP

In the past, whenever a user downloaded the Metaverse lightwallet, called MyETPWallet, the user was able to gain access to Metaverse addresses that began with “M”, and the user could transfer ETP and MST’s by using these addresses. To fully participate in the Metaverse ecosystem, however, one would need to register a digital identity (Avatar) within the wallet to issue digital assets (MST/MIT). Since the release of the Pillars of Creation update, users with Avatars can also now stake and participate using the full-node wallet in the hybrid consensus PoW+PoS network. The biggest issue and a potential roadblock arises when a new user downloads the wallet but has no ETP to register the Avatar. Since having an Avatar is a key gateway to the rest of the wallet’s functionalities, this caused trouble for new users who did not want to go through the hassle of buying ETP on exchanges then withdrawing to their MyETPWallet.

Exchanges Now Possible in MyETPWallet

Since we formed the partnership with SWFT Wallet, our technical team has been developing a solution to solve the problem of the inconvenience of buying ETP. SWFT has an integrated platform where users can exchange between hundreds of different tokens and coins from within the wallet, allowing fast and cost efficient transactions to take place. No longer does one have to register a new account at an exchange and go through the KYC approval hassle to buy a particular token. SWFT allows users to directly exchange right from within the wallet. Our core developers have integrated this exchange system to Metaverse’s own MyETPWallet, allowing users to directly buy or sell major cryptocurrencies like BTC, ETH, XRP, BCH, and EOS against ETP. This way, if you are a new user who has other major coins and want to experience the Metaverse ecosystem, you are able to buy ETP using these major coins. The hassle of figuring out which exchange to use to buy ETP is mitigated, and we hope this new feature will allow both new and old Metaverse users to participate in our ecosystem in a more efficient manner.

Our developers will write a detailed description of how this new feature works in the coming days, so please stay tuned!
