An NFT Weekly Recap: 1/31–2/6 by Metaverse HQ

Monday, January 31

We put a bow on the month of January with the highest volume day we’ve seen during this stretch as we closed at $223 milllion, officially making it the highest volume month in NFT history. Hints of euphoria are in the air as massive action continues to pour into the marketplace with floors rising all over the place.

Azuki (14.7E, +48%, 10k vol) stole the show once again with a massive surge that saw multiple sweeps and plenty of high value sales, gaining almost 5E in floor ground on the day. V1 Cryptopunks (26.49E, +36%), WomenRise (.94E, 220%), Coolmans Universe (1.9E, +39%), Rug Radio Genesis (1.15E, +71%) and mfers (.73E, +87%) all saw excellent gains on the day as well.

Another absolutely massive volume day on OpenSea as we closed over $247 million, the highest daily number we’ve seen in almost 6 months. LooksRare volume checked in at $556 million. A whopping 14 different projects eclipsed 1000 ETH daily volume as activity was well balanced across newly minted projects and already established secondary plays, with some floors seeing a slight pullback across the board.

The unrevealed Lives of Asuna (3.45E, +15%), Zipcys Supernormal (5.5E, +87%), Hape Prime (9.4E, +10%), Rug Radio (1.75E, +140%) and Full Send Metacard (1.91E, +107%) all had strong floor showings on the day.

Marketplace volume saw a pullback today as we closed at $182 million on OpenSea, a 35% retracement from yesterdays highs. LooksRare checked in at over $700 million in volume. With the decline in volume came a mostly red day across the board for most floors.

Pop Art Cats (.28E) and Nuclear Nerds (.44E) were two projects to survive the bloodbath with substantial floor gains while more notable heavy hitters in Azuki (11.5E) and BAYC (99E) saw dips from the highs of the past few days.

Marketplace volume cooled once again as we closed at the $151 million mark, the lowest number we’ve seen in over a week and a 20% decline from yesterday’s number. LooksRare checked in at $685 million.

Cool Monkes (1.33E, +82%) were one of the days big winners as the project opened its new staking mechanic. Big Cats (.65E, +24%), Art Blocks: Screens (3.54E, +108%), Pop Art Cats (.27E, +67%) and Ascended (.25E, +34%) all had nice floor days as well.

Weekend Update 2/4–2/6

A slower volume weekend on Opensea as we checked in right around $250 million for the two-day period. The two-day avg of $125 million marked the lowest volume totals we have seen in over two weeks. MFers (1.09E, +65%), Doodles (15.1E, +10%), NFT Worlds (4.7E, +15%), Phanta Bear (1.87E, +25%), Sappy Seals (1.6E, 23%), CloneX (16E, +15%) and the almighty Azuki (13E, 30%) all ended the weekend strong with solid floor gains.

• Neo Tokyo’s Meta Tournament concluded on Saturday with MVHQ’s very own @robotos taking down the top prize of $100k and the highly sought-after Golden Sock citizen. Many members found success over the two-day event with qualifiers beginning the tournament on Friday before having survivors advance to the final round of 100 on Saturday.
