An NFT Weekly Recap: 3/7–3/13 by Metaverse HQ

Monday, 3/7

Another sour volume day in the marketplace as we closed at $59 million, which was a small uptick from yesterday’s number, but still far from where we need to be. ETH also did us no favors as it touched below $2500 at points throughout the day. Gonna be surfing the dollar menu a little while longer.

BAYC led the volume charge on the collection front, bringing in over 2000E in 24 hr transactions, with floors touching as low as 65E at one point. Cyberbrokers (1.75E, 1337E vol) and Big Time (.31E, 1022E vol) also cleared the 1k volume benchmark on the day.

There was some positive action on the floor, as Quirkies (.92E, +35%) continued their surge upwards, while DourDarcels (.2E, +18%), DentedFeels (.27E, +23%), Capsule House (1.09E, +18%), CryptoDads (.24E, +25%), CryptoDickButts (1.14E, +30%) and Crypto Covens (1.09E, +31%) all had strong floor pops on the day.

Happy International Women’s Day to all the Ladies in the house. Thank you for helping to make not only MVHQ a better place but also the entire Web3 community!

Daily volume on OpenSea remained closed at the same $59 million number as yesterday, however, we were able to survive with a touch of green across some floors in addition to a few mints to keep the degen blood flowing. CyberBrokers (2.25E, 2509E vol) and BAYC (74.69E, 2211E vol) topped the volume leaders, with both being the only projects to eclipse 1k ETH in volume for the day.

DourDarcels (.4E, +90%) came strong for the second day in a row. While, Loser Club (.17E, +34%), Quirkies (.9E, +20%), RaidParty Fighters (.69E, +26%) and 3Landers (1.66E, +27%) all had steady floor gains on the day as well.

Thursday, 3/10

For the first time in 3 days, we broke $60 million in daily marketplace transactions. Still slow overall with a couple of news items helping to fuel some floor activity, in addition to some recent projects continuing their momentum. ETH prices managed a daily peak just above $2700 and a low of $2560.

Topping the volume leaderboard on the day was Meebits (4.98E, +1900E vol) after unconfirmed rumors of a Yuga Labs purchase circulated. After bringing in over 4k ETH in transactions on Wednesday, CyberBrokers (3.89E, 1000E vol) saw a slight pullback in activity, with floors dropping about 10%. Other winners on the day included Dour Darcels (.64E, +52%), Quirkies (1.79E, +27%) and StarCatchers (.33E, +38%).

Friday, 3/11

Volume showed signs of life today as a few major news items helped it along to a daily close of just under $75 million, which is the highest number we’ve seen in almost a week. Action in the marketplace picked up after news circulated about Yuga Labs’ acquisition of both CryptoPunks and MeeBits collections.

MeeBits were big winners on the news, seeing over 6700E in daily transactions with floors touching 7.5E at one point. CryptoPunks also saw an uptick in activity bringing in over 7000E in volume with floor prices currently holding nicely at 76E, momentarily flipping BAYC. Naturally, BAYC (80E, 2000E vol) and MAYC (18.5E, 1600E vol) both saw steady action as well.

Other winners on the day included CrypToadz (2.43E, +33%), Loser Club (.28E, +48%), Coolmans Universe (.133E, +24%) and Tubby Cats (.41E, +40%).

• In perhaps the biggest headline we have seen in the NFT space to date, Yuga Labs announced the acquisition of the CryptoPunks and Meebits collections from Larva Labs. Weekend Recap 3/12–3/13

Volume numbers were once again nothing to write home about, as we finished just under $140 million over the two-day stretch. Still, there seemed to be a renewed life to the marketplace as there was good action in certain spots throughout the weekend.

BAYC (95E, 6400E vol) led the volume charge, while their MAYC (20E, 3100E vol) counterparts saw strong action as well. Antonym (1.03E, 2300E vol) also saw activity on the back of a well-received Saturday reveal.

Coolman’s Universe (1.7E, +13%) saw a surge in activity due to Disney rumors that led to floors peaking around 2.3E at one point. Other winners this weekend include 3Landers (1.88E, +13%), Karafaru (2.69E, +13%), Gutter Cat Gang (6.6E, +17%) and Dour Darcels (.9E, +26%).
