Metaverse Purchase Buttons

There are many “Buy It Now” purchase buttons on the Web but not many options for accepting crypto payments online or in the metaverse so I built one.

The Problem

All of the crypto “Buy It Now” purchase buttons that I found were centralized solutions which require wire transfers and fees to move the payment from their wallets to your bank or wallet.

The Solution — Burchase.com

I ultimately wanted a peer-to-peer (wallet-to-wallet) decentralized payment solution without a middleman. It needed to accept Ethereum payments as well as any ERC-20 based tokens (and eventually Bitcoin). I also wanted the purchase button to be able to set a fiat-based price using multiple currencies and have the payment convert to the coin’s current value in real time.

After developing the above crypto payment solution for use in XRPA.NET and Metaverses.io, I refactored it so that others could use it as well. It’s called Burchase.com. You can add values into the widget below for testing your payment transactions.

If you leave the amount field blank, Burchase will add a text input box next to the button allowing the user to enter their own payment amount. You can also change the text on the button. This works great for crypto donations and tips!

Once you’re satisfied, click on the “Generate Burchase Button” and Burchase will generate a code snippet to add to your website or metaverse to accept crypto payments immediately.

Adding this line of code to your website generates the following button. Upon click, the user’s wallet (MetaMask, Coinbase, etc) opens for the user to confirm or reject the payment.

We also give you a QR code to make it easier to accept payments on mobile devices.

Burchase is just a start and meets my needs for XRPANET and Metaverses.io now. I plan to add user-defined ERC-20 tokens and Bitcoin payment support in the future. A payment notification service also needs to be added to Burchase to notify the seller of a transaction as well as possibly a webhook to automate the next step in the payment transaction.

Let me know your thoughts…
