After monitoring the Japanese market for some time, I discovered that Japan is leading the charge in creating national standards and regulations for blockchain-based projects. When Smart Contract, Inc. invited MetaX to participate in Ethereum Japan’s Meetup, we jumped at the opportunity to share our global vision for adChain!

Smart Contract, Inc. is a consulting and incubating firm that provides support in ethereum ecosystem development and advisement in blockchain and distributed ledger technology. Additionally, they are a liquidity provider of digital assets and offer marketing services.

Ethereum Japan is a non-profit organization that guides Ethereum-based projects looking to expand their reach into the Japanese market. Through their monthly-planned meetups, they create a platform for these projects to communicate their visions.

Our team was honored to take part in one of their meetups on Thursday, August 9, 2018, at Net Protection Co., Ltd’s office located in Tokyo, Japan. With over 200+ attendees, we witnessed the already-existing presence of the blockchain industry in Japan and gained valuable insights from a fresh international perspective.

Arriving at the venue, I immediately noticed the Japanese culture intertwined throughout the event-planning approach. It was amazing to see 30+ volunteers come together and systematically execute a well-organized meetup. From designing original t-shirts to providing complimentary snacks and arranging professional videography, the event was the perfect place to network with the local community.

During the event, we presented the following:

MetaX’s Mission

  • MetaX leverages blockchain technology to design real-world solutions that re-invent digital advertising standards, helps prevent ad fraud, and establishes a transparent ad tech ecosystem.

Why adChain?

  • The digital advertising industry lacks any open and explicit feedback loop from the adtech community about the legitimacy of ad-supported websites.

Combatting adFraud

  • Presenting user-generated data in the adChain Publisher Registry will add value, efficiency and create an immutable record for industry decision-makers.

adChain + aDS

  • The future of adChain includes the introduction of aDS, a decentralized peer-to-peer bidder and ad server allowing for a trusted verified marketplace.

TCRs and the adChain Registry

  • The adChain TCR is a decentralized community-curated list of ad-supported websites on the Ethereum Mainnet.

Demo

  • A live demo of the adChain Registry, our decentralized application (dApp).

adChain Publisher Registry 2.0

  • Creating more robust features to our current Publisher Registry, allowing for more informed decision-making.

MetaX Product Roadmap

  • Explaining the future of adChain, such as the development of our aDS Prototype One (Q4 2018), the launch of our aDS Private Beta (Q1 2019), and the introduction of our aDS MVP (Q2 2019).

In Tokyo, we were also joined by Kyber Network, a distributed liquidity network integrates with any application, and Ledger, one of the world’s largest security companies developing products and services specialized in digital asset management. It was a pleasure to learn first-hand about the progress taking place within two very reputable projects in the blockchain realm.

Taisuke Hory, a Japanese Evangelist for Kyber Network, described their plans to rebrand and break away from stereotypical ideas of decentralized exchanges. For more information in Japanese regarding Kyber Network’s presentation, please access here.

Nicolas Bacca, Ledger’s founder and CTO, and Jean-Michel Pailhon, Ledger’s VP of Corporate Development, discussed their solutions (such as the Ledger Nano S hardware wallet) and their current focus to develop solutions for companies and institutional investors. For more information in Japanese regarding Ledger’s presentation, please access here.

It was welcoming to see Kyber Network and Ledger’s business aspirations parallel MetaX’s vision of establishing a brand presence in the Asia-Pacific region.

I will never forget this experience and the new relationships that I formed. I am excited to see this as the initial step towards making adChain a truly global standard for digital advertising. This event was the first of many meetups we plan on attending and hosting in Asia!
