Meter Ecosystem Tutorials: Onboarding on to Meter Network

This step-by-step tutorial will help you navigate the Meter Network easily.
Do you have MetaMask installed to access the Meter Network? If no, follow the step 1. In addition to MetaMask, you can check the wallets currently supported on Meter Network on our ecosystem page.
Step 1: Setting up a MetaMask account
MetaMask by default has setup for Ethereum Network. Each blockchain is a different network setting within the wallets which is identified by the Chain ID, rpc URL (helps query blockchain data), the native gas token and the blockchain explorer.
Step 2: Setup Meter Network in MetaMask
As native gas token is specified during the Meter Network setup, MetaMask does not have information about any other tokens specific to the Network.
Since a network would typically support 100's of ERC20 tokens, users prefer to access tokens that they interact with by providing the ERC20 contract information. We recommend adding MTRG token contract to the wallet.
Step 3: Setup MTRG in MetaMask
Users would need MTR as the gas token to transact on Meter Network. If you do not have MTR but have MTRG, you can use gasless swap to swap some MTRG into MTR. Gasless swap also supports BNB and ETH tokens in addition to MTRG.
Meter Mainnet does not have a faucet.

Step 4: Get MTR for gas
There — you are now all set to experience the blazingly fast Meter Mainnet.

Some Additional Information
Transactions on Meter Network are incredibly cheap with a native transfer costing as low as 0.0021 MTR (~ 0.1 cent). The base gas price on Meter Network is 100 GWEI
