We’ve been hosting an exhibition of Bobbi Gibb’s art at our pop-up in Boston since we opened 10 days before the Boston Marathon. Today, in association with Women’s Running Magazine the day after the marathon, Bobbi swung by to talk, take part in a Q&A and join us (briefly) on a shakeout run.

We had a great time, and as always Bobbi was the definition of hospitable, signing hundreds of copies of To Boston With Love and posing for dozens of photos with appreciative fans.

All proceeds from the book go to the Bobbi Gibb Sculpture Project, which hopes to add the form of a female runner to the Boston Marathon course. Buy a book or donate — learn more at bobbigibbart.net.

When the crowd finally died down, we headed out to run — 2.6miles around Boston, coming back along the esplanade. Stories of yesterday’s race were shared and ambitions of the next raced were aired publicly, possibly for the first time.

It was great to runners of three generations running alongside each other and having fun. After a hectic week of official engagements Bobbi was understandably too tired to join us for the whole run, but we know she was excited to see so many people out running in her honour.

Thanks to everyone who came, especially Bobbi Gibb and Women’s Running Magazine. The event was a great success — help us keep the ball rolling by taking the time to learn more and support the Bobbi Gibb Sculpture Foundation!
