We Implemented The Diamond Standard!
In true meTokens form, our vision for meTokens is for the entire protocol to be public and open source. Over the past month, we have cleaned up past test variables and added innovative development plugins to ensure the published code is easy to digest for builders and Ethereum enthusiasts who are looking to integrate personal tokens with their own dApps.
meTokens is built using EIP-2535, the Diamond Standard, which registers multiple smart contracts into a single master (proxy) contract called a Diamond. This month, we added a new ABI to maximize efficiency. Our smart contract team recently implemented the Hardhat Diamond ABI, which groups multiple ABIs into a single one. Typically, one ABI is generated per smart contract, but with the Hardhat plugin, all contracts ABIs are combined into a single Diamond. Rather than calling multiple functions or interacting with individual smart contracts, diamonds make it easy to fetch on chain data and reduces steps for building integrations. XMTP Integration
We are happy to officially announce our partnership with XMTP Labs, which will enable privately encrypted, meTokens-gated messaging! Directly from the meTokens platform (or through any other XMTP chat client), users can message each other without any intermediaries. The wallet-to-wallet messaging capability adds a DeSoc capability to our platform by allowing users to engage with one another while simultaneously owning all of their data.
