Type Of SAAS That You Should Not Start

Type Of SAAS To Avoid

--

Having a SaaS business up and running successfully is the best hustle you can ever get and sometimes SaaS gets acquired by some other big giant which is also one of the best opportunities that founders want. But to start a SaaS business you need to start from very scratch and develop something that the society needs or it’s able to solve a specific problem for a large audience.

I’ve seen a lot of people having cash in their hands and are eager to start a SaaS business hoping that they can turn this up into something big, honestly speaking this is not what happens, 90% of businesses fail in their development phase, or even if their development is done there are tons of bugs and application is not stable to face the market. Sometimes it’s a dispute between the development team or proper timelines are not met, but all these problems that come are mostly because of bad decisions, choices of features, and the type of SaaS that we are trying to build. In this article, I will be sharing some types and features that are better to keep for later phases or not to build in the first place.

Before we start if you want to take a deep dive into running a successful AI-based SaaS business and want to know all the key strategies and points then I’ve written a book “Cheat Code for Building AI-Driven SaaS”. This book will provide you an extensive guidance and you will find your path for building your AI-based SaaS.

Two Face SaaS Business

Two-Face SaaS is like a marketplace where one is a buyer and the other is a seller, the perfect example of a Two-Face SaaS is Fiverr or Upwork. SaaS like these are likely difficult to implement as you have to market both the party to use your software, and both are heavily dependent on each other, now the only way you can work around this is if you have already a ready audience on your side which 99% of the time is not going to happen. So I would say if you are implementing such type of SaaS you must validate it first and consult someone who has experience in the SaaS business.

B2C SaaS

B2C SaaS is another bad choice for building things out, most of the time you see platforms like YouTube, Amazon Prime, Hulu, or Netflix as an example but these are not SaaS they are entertainment other apps you can say like Google Drive or DropBox which are good but they have already acquired a large set of audience in the market and will be difficult for you to implement yours.

Freemium Model SaaS

Now you need to be careful of what service you are offering for Free and what the period of it. I’ve seen a lot of my clients who don’t do the research in the first place on the cost they have to face and they implement it. This is a gateway to closing your SaaS business in the early days so make sure if you are giving any service for free you must have tested it out.

I hope these points might help you to choose the right type of SaaS, let me know if you have any doubts in the comments I would love to answer them for you.

Also if you like to get more in-depth knowledge of more and above points I’ve written the book “Cheat Codes for Building SaaS” It is worth checking it out before starting your SaaS.
