### The Strange Affairs of Life
Just as a hardship can turn into ease,
If one day your lineage casts a shadow,
A thousand hardships, like a garment to wear.
A scribe of many troubles,
Have they ever seen such a precious light?
The home in mourning for the one who died of colon cancer,
Maybe this light will kindle hope.
Can human affairs be fathomed?
In proportion to the fate of the one who walks with Azazel,
Is there any green other than destruction?
Is there sustenance beyond poison?
Greetings to the hope nurtured by love,
Both to you and to those in need,
To the one who journeys into infinity with a child.

#### September 28, 2021 — Kıymet Üstündağ from Eskişehir, who lost her husband to cancer and survived colon cancer herself, donated 60,000 liras saved for her pilgrimage to the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Ward after her doctor advised against travel due to health issues.
In Eskişehir, 80-year-old Kıymet Üstündağ lost her husband, Ahmet Üstündağ, to lung cancer in 1985. Years later, in 1994, Kıymet herself was diagnosed with colon cancer but managed to recover after treatment. For years, she had been saving money for a pilgrimage to Mecca, a dream she shared with her late husband. However, due to her health problems, her doctor advised against traveling. Deciding to donate the 60,000 liras she had saved, Üstündağ reached out to Osmangazi University’s Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Ward through acquaintances. After completing the necessary procedures, the 80-year-old Üstündağ donated her savings, and the names of Kıymet and Ahmet Üstündağ were given to two different rooms in the ward. Kıymet Üstündağ mentioned that she prayed for the names given to the rooms, including the one she stayed in during her treatment, and noted that the donations were used to ensure comfortable treatment for children with cancer.
