My experience of being a part of mewt
Like in any other engineering college, my college made internships experience a compulsory part of the student’s curriculum. The administration was right in their perspective that the students must have a practical knowledge of the industry before they step out of college after graduation.
I started hunting for internships after my semester exam. While going through the opening in various companies on LinkedIn, I came across the internship opening at mewt. I looked at the Job Description, it matched to some extent with my skills and experience. Since, I made my college projects using python and was doing programming mostly in python, I applied for the role.
Like any other job application I was not sure whether I will get a reply or not. Unlike other applications, I did receive a message to confirm for the availability for a interview call and thus a meeting was scheduled. This was coding interview round after which a task was given, to make a user login system and share the link where the code is published. After sharing the link, the very next morning I got a mail for being a part of mewt.
In the two months duration I learnt a lot of things, be it extracting data from pdf using tabula, using pandas and git version control, learning Django framework, even testing with postman. I could see my work have a direct impact as it’s the base on which many feature depend on and that made me appreciate myself even more.
I used to have team meeting where everyone talks in a friendly manner, share their thoughts in order to make the product as best as we can. Sharing thoughts helps in understanding other perspective too, which in turn helps to give good experience to user or the team.
Working in a start-up gives you more responsibilities, with more responsibilities comes more experience to deal with such a situation, which you might not find elsewhere. At the end all that matters is the experience to handle such situation and make the best out of it. Had a good experience being a mewtant, I wish mewtants All The Best, you guys are fantastic.
