Iris: Today, we’re honored to have Astrid Dang, Head of Marketing and Partnerships of My DeFi Pet, to our community to give us a more intuitive introduction to their unique project.

Astrid, welcome. Would you like to say hello and introduce yourselves?

Astrid: It’s my honor to be here. DPET is listed in MEXC via competition and have X3 leverage.

A little bit about myself, I’m Astrid, the Head of Marketing and Partnerships of My DeFi Pet. A little bit about myself, I’ve been active in Marketing and promotion with a background in international business, marketing and IT business analyst, advising international blockchain projects to enter the local market across Asia while entering blockchain space since early 2018. I used to work as IT Business Analyst in FPT Software before joining KardiaChain, handling projects in Supply Chain for Charity field, and Education with Chat/Communications system. Before that, I was Marketing manager in Bigcoin Vietnam and Business Development Leader in Bigcoin Capital, where she analyzed ICO investment and planned massive marketing events and campaigns, community management for blockchain projects to enter Vietnamese market and obtain connections in international exposure.

I also had experience in Ecommerce, Medical, Environment, Education and intellectual contests while earning her double-major Bachelor Degree about English language and international economics from Vietnam National University and regarded as Capital City’s Youth Ambassador, receiving First runner-up Award of Young Community Builders Competition organized by Youth Ventures Vietnam.

Iris: What is My DeFi Pet? Can you share with us more in detail?

Brief introduction about My DeFi Pet, the name of the project speaks for itself.

“My” — pet personalization, a feature that will be rolled out in the future to personalize your pet based on your real life activities.

“DeFi” — the game’s core features include Play2Earn and DeFi that will be integrated into the in-game content. It would change the way people play video games. Instead of pay to win, My DeFi Pet allows users to “Invest to Play to Earn”.

“Pet” — each pet in the game is an NFT that can be traded, staked, borrowed, or lent.

As you may know, CEO/ Co-founder of KardiaChain is also CEO of My Defi Pet, Mr. Tri Pham. My Defi Pet is owned by KardiaChain, which is considered the national blockchain of Vietnam


Iris: What triggers you to launch My DeFi Pet? What are some of the real-world problems/ pain points that My DeFi Pet aims to solve?

Astrid: Thanks for the great question. KardiaChain is friend of TopeBox — one of the most famous game studios in Vietnam. We advised them to become blockchain studio from 2019 but the trend hadn’t hit yet. Until early 2021 when the NFT becomes the king of trends, we can easily sit together to build the game, then My Defi Pet was born.

My DeFi Pet is created by KardiaChain and Topebox. KardiaChain is the national blockchain project in Vietnam that has extensive experience in developing blockchain technology and infrastructure. Topebox is one of the best game developers in Vietnam with more than 100 million downloads globally from their games. This collaboration would foster a game that has amazing game graphics and contents and secured blockchain infrastructure. Players would be able to enjoy playing the game earning revenue at the same time.

We love both Binance Smart Chain and KardiaChain. When we started developing the game, Binance Smart Chain meets all the criteria to help us be successful. Binance Smart Chain has a great ecosystem with a large number of users. It is very developer-friendly and the transaction cost and settlement time are very low.

We also chose KardiaChain because we wanted to target the Vietnamese communities and gamers. Additionally, KardiaChain network also has many advantages like low transaction cost and settlement time.

All the Co-Founders of this project are gamers ourselves. We fully understand the fact that once we put money in any games, there is no way we can get that money back. As of now, there are 2.6 billion gamers around the world but only a tiny fraction of them actually make a living when playing video games. They are mainly game developers, streamers, and professional esports. We see the potential market there where we can develop a video game with Play2Earn features so that players can generate money while playing. Our vision is to create a game economy that sustains itself by serving the purpose of different types of gamers.


Iris: What are some of the challenges that My DeFi Pet currently faces? How do you aim to solve them?

Astrid: Talking about challenge, firstly I think that is the number of users who play this game. It usually makes the server crowded more than our expectation. However, both KardiaChain and TopeBox are experienced in the industry, while KAI provides blockchain, TopeBox is seeking for the best case to upgrade the server. To us, experience and skills are the key.

Secondly, it’s about competitor. Yes, we are aware that NFT game is the trend, hence there will be a lot of game mushrooming in the market. Nevertheless, we have the creative minds behind the project to constantly come up with the better way to enhance our game experience, gameplay, both in blockchain experience for crypto community, and the gamer world itself.

Iris: Are there any exciting news or updates with regards to My DeFi Pet that you would like to share with the users?

Astrid: This will be a long answer haha.

Iris: haha we are all ears!

Astrid: Firstly, let me wrap up some achievements. We are thrilled to show you what we have accomplished in the past two months.

We are oversubscribed during the fundraising in private and public rounds, backed by notable VCs such as Animoca, OKEx Dream Fund, DFG, Axia8, Kardia Ventures, Spark Digital, Everest Ventures, Consensus Labs, …

  • We became The Top 1 BSC Game by User in BSCDaily;
  • Top 1 trending over weeks on Coingecko;
  • We are recognized as the First Big Game on Binance Smart Chain by DappRadar;
  • We are in the top 20 projects in the MVBII Program;
  • 100x from public price, 333X from bottom to Ath
  • We have 1,800,000+ eggs purchased, 400,000+ pets evolved, 150,000+ token holders, and 2,300,000+ transactions. All these amazing numbers are from Binance Smart Chain.

We have exciting developments coming up in the next few quarters. Within this Q3, we will release the Marketplace and Boss Fight Event (Season 1) having the reward of more than 150,000 DPET tokens. In Q4 and Q1 next year, we will release more in-game content with Play2Earn along with new in-game token for Play2Earn rewards. Regarding the roadmap, we will release many exciting in-game contents that have Play2Earn incorporated within the contents. The game would have great graphics and contents like traditional mobile or PC games. That would make the players enjoy the game and not be bored grinding the Play2Earn features. Also, the amount of Play2Earn tokens generated daily depends on the quality and strength of the pets, not just an arbitrary number. The stronger your pets are, the more maps you can complete to earn the rewards.

Iris: Wow! Looking forward to all that💪

Astrid: Our team consists of members that have experience in real world businesses that are familiar lean practices, agile, and scale up. When we started the project and raised $1M from our private and public rounds, we applied lean practices that allow us to have enough funding to run the project. Unexpectedly, our pet sale increased rapidly in the last 2 months with more than 1,700,000 pets sold with the price of 3 DPET tokens each. Also, with the strong support from the community, our token price reached an all time high. With that revenue, we currently have enough funding to continue the development for more than 5 years. We also have business plans to generate more revenues for the project that makes it self sustainable.


Iris: If you were to summarize your project in ONE word, what would it be? Why?

Astrid: Oh it’s “Kawaii”!

Do you know the word “Kawaii” in Japanese? It means “the cutest”. Yes, to become the top of mind NFT game, we need to have the best pets who are not only beautiful, but also can “earn” a lot in “Plat to Earn”, and have unique skills in battle + valuable in NFT marketplace.

If you compare our gameplay graphics, it is invested with a lot of effort — the strength of game studio TopeBox who has 100M+ installs for their game publications in Google Play + App Store.

Q1. The problem with most blockchain-based games is the poor graphics for smooth gameplay. How will My DeFi Pet balance these two aspects, graphics and speed?

Astrid: Graphics: I have mentioned that is the strength of game studio TopeBox — one of the most reputable game studio in the nation. Graphics is our USP (Unique selling point)

Speed: It comes from our public chain KardiaChain. KardiaChain has certain advantages such as 5s confirmation time, 10,000 TPS; 10000–100,000 times cheaper than Ethereum, Dual Node core technology for non-invasive crosschain transation, fully interoperable and fully decentralized.

Q2. Southeast Asia is a very vibrant market with many projects developed here. Regarding your project, what do you think about Southeast Asia and do you have any plans to develop here?

Astrid: If you have noticed, the top 3 trending coins recently all are Asian projects, especially Vietnamese project: Axie Infinity AXS, My Defi Pet, DPET, SLP

Vietnam ranks top 5–8 trading volume in the world, and be the top growing country in South East Asia. We have certain leveraging points to become the market leader, as we already did.

For South East Asia overall, the golden demographic and a lot of crypto funds poured into this region said it all.

  • TokoCrypto acquired by Binance, Pintu got 6M USD + funding (Indonesia).
  • Coin98 from Vietnam just got listed on Binance with historical trading volume and fund commited before launchpad
  • Axie Infinity from Vietnam the top marketcap NFT game of billions dollar.
  • My Defi Pet top 1 game on Binance Smart Chain by user.
  • Philippines become the most active country to play NFT game.

These examples may shed some lights on the potential of SEA.

Q3. Does your project support staking program? If yes, how does your stake system work and what is the need for user if they want to stake on your platform?

Astrid: In My DeFi Pet, the pets that users are raising are NFT themselves! When users buy an egg and hatch their pet, the game has minted that unique NFT, which costs DPET.

Users will be able to stake their NFT pets to receive more tokens with the staking & farming function released in KardiaChain ecosystem.

The project will not burn DPET tokens. Instead, the team will use the earnings from the egg sale to host events and give it back to the community.

In the remaining months of 2021, the project will release Marketplace and P2E features for you to both play games and earn. This is the project’s roadmap in 2021 and 2022.

There are many more features that will be released for users to play.

Specifically, in the half year of 2021, we will focus to release in-game features such as skill system, social system, PVP battle, new UI & UX and so on.
