AMA Session with Terry from Solanium (SLIM)
Guest: Terry, Core Contributor of Solanium
Host: Iris of MXC Exchange
Introduction:
Iris: Today, we’re honored to have Terry, Core Contributor of Solanium, to our community to give us a more intuitive introduction to their unique project.
Terry, welcome. Would you like to say hello and introduce yourself?
Terry: Hi everyone! My name is Terry and I am a core contributor to the Solanium platform. I started my blockchain career back in 2017 on the NEO blockchain, where I was working at a start-up doing an ICO on NEO. Later on I worked a lot with EOS and Ethereum blockchain as well as a little bit with some other EVM chains.
Questions about the project
Q1
Iris: What is Solanium? Can you share with us more in detail?
Terry: Solanium is a decentralized fundraising platform that is bridging the best of launchpads with the best of decentralized auctions. We are essentially making an open platform where everyone can create pools and raise funding, but the team still has the possibility to certify and feature certain launches (more launchpad style). So, in short we are creating an open launchpad platform.
Besides pools we are also bringing staking, trading and governance to our platform (and the Solana ecosystem)
Q2
Iris: What triggers you to launch Solanium? What are some of the real-world problems/ pain points that Solanium aims to solve?
Terry: There are of course a lot of launchpads already out there, we wanted to focus on Solanium because that will enable us to leverage Solana’s transaction speed and costs in our platform.
A lot of launchpads have very basic tokenomics. You can get exclusive or early access to some pools and that’s it. We are actually bringing way more utility to our token in the form of staking, governance and fee distribution.
Also our launchpad will support KYC integration from the start. Some projects require KYC due to regulatory issues and we can provide that to them.
Q3
Iris: What are some of the challenges that Solanium currently faces? How do you aim to solve them?
Terry: Our main focus is making the UI and UX as easy to use as possible, and that is very challenging. To create a simple UI while building on such advanced technology requires a lot of trade-offs and decision making. We are constantly listening to feedback from the community to improve our UI/UX and the whole platform in general.
Iris: Nice of you to make UI & UX your priority — that’s very important to the community!
Q4
Iris: Are there any exciting news or updates with regards to Solanium that you would like to share with the users?
Terry: We are working with some pretty great partners and projects in the Solana ecosystem already, and some big one may even launch on Solanium. More info about this will be published later.
Q5
Iris: If you were to summarize your project in ONE word, what would it be? Why?
Terry: Tough question! The official answer will be that we are ‘all-in-one’, but you can also call us ‘rocketfuel’ (I know that is actually 2 words) as we are the fuel needed to launch great projects in the Solana space! ☀️
Free-asking Session
Q1. What makes Solanium unique as compared to its competitors in the Market like Solstarter and Solpad?
Terry: Well, I think first of all we have a really experienced and fast shipping dev team. We already launched Solanium through our own platform and everything we have developed so far can be reused to fit future launches as well. A lot of other launchpads are calling themselves the ‘First launchpad on Solana’ but I think Solanium is actually the ‘first working launchpad’ on Solana 😉
And of course we do have a lot of other utility to our token as well than just early or exclusive access. (staking, governance, fee distribution)
Q2: What are your plans to move towards a more decentralized and trustless solution?
Terry: We eventually want to achieve full decentralization for the whole platform. So all raises and logic is handled by smart contracts on the (Solana) blockchain and there will be no ‘multisig’ or ‘admins’ that can control the platform. The platform will be governed by xSLIM holders (SLIM stakers).
This is our vision which we will slowly work towards to over time while improving the platform functionality as well.
Q3: What is the meaning of the name, Solanium?
Terry: It is a mix between the name Solana and Selenium (which in Latin means selḗnē = moon)
