“The Original Epic Hackathon”

Before we talk about MHacks: Refactor, let’s discuss our past.

MHacks has always branded itself as ‘epic.’ Some of you may have even known us as “The Original Epic Hackathon.” Before, we would have unquestionably told you that epic meant being the biggest and baddest hackathon around. It defined us. But today, we’re defining ‘epic’ a little bit differently.

To us, an epic hackathon is much more than just our size, our sponsors, and our snacks. An epic hackathon focuses on the hacker experience. It welcomes all people. It not only pushes but challenges hackers to build, break, and create. Even more than that, we want everyone to learn, push themselves, create lifelong connections, and expose themselves to new ideas. Our new notion of epic recognizes all this, and takes a form that defines itself by risk taking. And that’s exactly what we’re going to do.

Being epic means recognizing what we can do to make a change and taking that leap.

So Welcome to MHacks: Refactor, not MHacks 7

Forget what we’ve done before. Change your perception of “Think Big, Hack Bigger.” We’re not just MHacks 7, another iteration on our past. We’re MHacks: Refactor.

So sit down, buckle up, and get ready as we take you through MHacks: Refactor.

We brought together all of our previous successes and our failures, and finally found our ideal. We summed it up here into a simple yet powerful equation:

Inclusive Community + Hacker Empowerment = Personal Development

So go, explore the links, see what we’re all about. We’ll see you at MHacks: Refactor!
