Will be different without modern humans on it

If no modern humans come to persist, then all lands will, under systemic management, limit human demands on Nature’s resources so as to remain well within environmental carrying capacity (so when the 100-year bad year comes, nobody dies). Humans will occupy no more than 20% of a habitable region (to allow new species to evolve to replace those driven to extinction) supporting no more than 50 groups of no more than 50 members to avoid overcomplexity/overdensity limits determined by human biology/ecology/ethology.

Viewed from space, an area closed to all modern human activity would appear the same as one with MHEM humans, but under systemic management.

The area so occupied shall be defined by watershed ridge boundaries and troughs/waterways (streams, rivers, lakes, oceans). Each region shall be called a watershed management unit (WMU) and include, if needed, travel corridors for inter WMU trade (if any) and travel. To leave the corridor without permission would be an act of war and trigger a determined response.

If residents (one or more) of a WMU attack any portion of another WMU, they will be viewed as expansionists (a form of metastatic growth) and disabled at all cost as a body’s immune system would respond to a pathogen/cancer (failure to contain/disable being fatal). If the residents of any WMU exploit any portion of Nature’s 80%, the perpetrators shall also be disabled by militia from all other WMUs that come from as far away as needed to disable the expansion (growth).

A WMU may be entirely self sufficient, neither import nor export any goods or services, may refuse to host a Federation Embassy and all benefits. A WMU may disallow travelers to leave a travel corridor, if any. The only requirement is that Federation observers not be attacked as they study Nature’s 80% and incidentally assess for any human usage, inclusive of hunting and gathering.

If the human’s 20% is attacked, the Federation will protect them from any aggressor, but no WMUs are independent sovereign states. Such entities are incompatible with life, and so are not subject to United Federation of Watersheds protection from conquest.

A WMU that agrees to host a Federation Embassy and receive benefits, such as a library, repair shop, medical/dental clinic, and trading post, must also agree to provide one or more platoons of Earth Guardians as needed to prevent attack on a WMU by any aggressor, whether a rogue former Federation member or not.

A small WMU of low-intensity forager-gardeners will be protected from a neighboring high-intensity agro-powered WMU supporting a much larger population. Might will no longer make right. The condition of war ends within the Federation, as there will be no sovereign individuals, communities, chiefdoms, kingdoms, city-states, nation-states nor conquest culture.

Calhoun’s modern mice did not voluntarily go extinct. No mice intentionally caused their own extinction.

North Sentinel Island is inhabited by renormalizing humans who have no where to expand to (who persist by attacking modern humans for centuries since they first arrived on the island uninvited, and because their island has no perceived economic value yet — but if modern humans need the island to recreate on, then, of course, the 23 sq mi of island will be taken).

All other places in the region are inhabited by modern expansionistic humans. One area is systemically managed. All other lands are competitively mismanaged, e.g. as where you live also (likely more so). About 8 billion modern humans depend on turning fossil fuels (directly and indirectly) into food (and transporting it and processing it and packaging it and storing it… so 39% of the global modern human population can be clinically obese — for a time). Agriculture is the number one driver of biodiversity loss/extinction and still increasing (80+ million/year) human population wanting more food.

For involuntary change, join MHEM. The belief that you are a free agent, with free will to choose your future (or get modern humans to choose their future), is error floating on a sea of ignorance in a thick fog of illusion.

[Note: MHEM membership excludes politicians and the recently (<1 year) politically active, including environmentalists. Otherwise, with the exception of the San, Hadza, and Pygmy, all other humans are Modern humans, and acknowledging that such is who and what you are is the requirement for being MHEM. MHEM includes members who celebrate Modern human life and favor the extinction of all life that humans do not value (aka “Hypers”). Hyper MHEM supporters may prefer to join Hyper MHEM. A minority faction views the condition of being a Modern human the way AA members view the condition of being an alcoholic — i.e. non-viable.
