Adidas is building adiVerse within The Sandbox
Adidas is yet another major player to announce its entry into the metaverse. On Monday, the 22nd, the fashion giant unveiled plans to build its metaverse at The Sandbox — and boosted the platform’s native cryptocurrency, SAND, up 32% from the previous 24 hours, going against what’s currently happening in the crypto market, with the majority of assets in decline.
Keeping up with Nike’s recent actions in relation to the metaverse, Adidas, one of the largest sporting material manufacturers in the world, announced the construction of adiVerse, the name given to the brand’s metaverse that will be developed within The Sandbox.
With a somewhat “cryptic” positioning in a post on social media, the German brand, famous for its three stripes, revealed that it now has a “land” within The Sandbox, which will be used to create adiVerse, the Adidas’ metaverse.
Also in the publication, the company hinted that the adiVerse will likely be developed in conjunction with the “creators”, who are the brand’s most loyal and closest consumers, the designers behind Adidas’ best-known collaborations, such as Kanye West, and with The Sandbox developers.
