Over 1,100 Small Businesses Across America Say #KeeptheDecrees

Over 1,100 small business owners from nearly every state in the country have signed our letter to the Department of Justice asking them to keep the ASCAP and BMI consent decrees in place.

These decrees are critical for business owners, for artists and for all of us who love music. At the end of the day, your favorite local hangout — whether its a pub in San Antonio, a restaurant in Milwaukee or a cafe in Ithaca — just wants to follow the rules and make sure that musicians get paid!

No matter which state you live in, it’s easy to agree that we should make that easier, not harder.

The Department of Justice is thinking about removing the consent decrees, but we can still save them. You can help us stop this bad idea from going any further:

  1. If you’re a venue owner, join over 1,100 of your peers and sign our letter to the Department of Justice.
  2. If you aren’t a venue owner — or even if you are — go to Twitter and tell the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice, @JusticeATR, that they should #KeeptheDecrees.
