Rockstar Tony (Shown Above)

Today’s article is an EP Review on an artist by the name of Rockstar Tony. He is from Springfield Ohio the same city as me and graduated at the High School I currently go to. Before listening to the EP I’m not too familiar with his music but I have heard really good things about his music. The EP consists of 6 tracks including no features at all. The EP is titled ‘Born Superstar’ it’s my time to take a listen and see if I really do think he is a superstar. The EP is available on all platforms and the links will be listed at the end of the article. Enjoy!

Born Superstar

1. Easy Girl (Intro)

Perfect intro track in my opinion. For the first 45 seconds a very slow but catchy beat was played to set the vibe right. Rest of the song is filled with amazing vocals that fit perfect on the slow beat. I’m getting some huge Travis Scott vibes and I love it! The lyrics definitely have a meaning to them and lead up to the ending where he repeats “Now I see your an easy girl”. This song is really good and very catchy I will definitely add this one to my playlist.

Rating: 9/10

2. Rock The Party

As soon as the song started, I felt like I was on a beach. I’m feeling huge Sean Kingston vibes on this song. His accent sounds very Jamaican and the happy lyrics on the very catchy beach mood beat gives this song a very cool vibe. I can definitely hear this song being played at huge beach parties and beach scenes in movies. The hook is super catchy and very well produced. The energy on the hook makes this song amazing. Great song, Great vocals, Great production.

Rating: 10/10

3. Love The Way

Immediately getting way different vibes from the last song. The very slow piano beat mixed with the vocals makes this slow beat actually super catchy. At 1:15 when the beat picked up pace that part was fire! That part will easily be stuck in my head for awhile. My favorite type of music is R&B and love songs and this song fits that category perfectly. I am a big fan of this track, this one will definitely make my playlist.

Rating: 9/10

4. Roll

The song starts off with the hook. This hook has voices in the background that make it 10x better. The background vocals in this song were perfect and the song wouldn’t be the same without them. The 1st verse was super good and led into the hook perfectly. He explained to me that he’s always loved dancing and after listening to this track and the first 3 I can see that his music is heavily inspired by dancing. Every song so far including this one has been the type of song that just makes you want to dance.

Rating: 9/10

5. Nasty

The song begins with some very catchy humming and is throwing huge Kid Cudi vibes my way. This song was released as a single not too long ago so I have heard it before. The song is very catchy as are all of his songs. Just like the last song this song also has some background voices that make it a lot better. This song is well produced and well thought out. His flow on the hook is amazing and makes this song sound like a hit!

Rating: 9/10

6. Letter to My Ex

Before listening to this song I was told by Tony that this song sounds like a Rock song. Out of all 5 tracks so far I haven’t heard any Rock type music so I’m super interested to hear what this track brings. Immediately I do catch some very big Rock vibes. When he said “And might blow my brain” and then the beat stopped and made a gun noise that part was very cool. Right before the 2 minute mark he starts low key screaming and really brings out the Rock vibe part of the song. Very deep song and I love it.

Rating 10/10

After listening to all 6 tracks I have to say not a single one of them is bad in anyway. My 2 favorite would have to be ‘Rock The Party’ and ‘Letter to My Ex’. My first thoughts on Rockstar Tony is that he has a lot of Superstar potential and anytime soon, I do believe that he will have a huge name for himself in the music world. In the intro I said it’s my time to see if I think he actually is a Superstar and after listening I believe that heavily he is. The EP wasn’t disappointing at all and hopefully he drops some music videos. I would love to see a ‘Rock The Party’ music video! Down below are all the links to ‘Born Superstar’ make sure you check it out and if you like it which I know you will make sure to add them to your playlist!
