College tuition rates have generally risen in almost every state. Few states over the past 10 years have increased tuition rates by less than 20%. Ohio is the only state that actually decreased their tuition rates over 10 years. Four states in the U.S. have increasded their rates by over 90%. Hawaii has the largest increase in tuition rates with 138%. However, it still does not have the highest over tuition rate.

On average the annual U.S. income rate has increased by about 500%. Overall, income rates have steadily increased through out each state over the past 35 years. The East Coast states have on average increased by a higher amount compared to West Coast states. Even though both coasts have relatively similar incomes in the 1980’s, eastern states have a much higher increase over time. However, the biggest change in income actually exists on neither of the coasts. There is almost a 630% change in income rates for North Dakota. Which is far higher than any of the West Coast states and a little higher than East Coast states.
