You may have heard about Swift Playgrounds last September 2016 when Apple announced that anyone can download Swift Playgrounds on their iPads or during WWDC16 (if you are a developer or are school teacher that was present during WWDC).

If you haven’t tried it yet, you can download it for free at this link. Just to note, it is only compatible with iOS 10 and up and with iPad Air 1 & 2, iPad mini 2,3,4, iPad Pro (12.9 & 9.7 inch).

If you are just starting to learn how to code, it would be best if you start with the two tracks provided by Apple — Learn to Code 1: Fundamentals of Swift, Learn to Code 2: Beyond the Basics. This will teach you the “grammar” of coding in order for you to move to the next step of building apps.

I’ll be creating a series of tutorials that will help you explore Swift Playgrounds more and what else it can do. I’m thinking of dividing it into three tracks:

  1. A track for people starting to learn how to code using Swift Playgrounds.
  2. A track for people who wants to create their own playgroundbooks so that they can share it with others. (Target audience: Teachers teaching Swift Playgrounds)
  3. A track to just explore what Swift Playgrounds can do.

If you have any suggestions, you can post it in the comments or email me at michie@riffic.io.
