The Micro-Chop Daily X #9
A Micro-Chop playlist featuring 10 hand-picked instrumentals — every single day for an entire year.
N ine days into The Micro-Chop Daily X playlist series and it definitely feels like the right move. The Micro-Chop Twitter page gained nearly 500 followers since I started the project and the engagement for tweets about the Daily X playlists has been stellar. I can only imagine where we’ll be a month from now.
I love how these playlists help me connect with different producers. The retweets and likes also help me connect me with their followers. It’s really helping me rethink the power and potential of curating and sharing information on Twitter.
Starting a project that shares the work of select artists in frequent micro-bursts seems to be a powerful way to further grow an already engaged community. I’ve definitely made a lot of contacts in a short span of time and I’m discovering so much incredible music through artist recommendations from my Twitter followers.
Perhaps most importantly, this project is a humbling reminder of how much great music out there that deserves an audience. When I explained the project to a close friend at my recent 15-year high school reunion, he asked if I was worried I would run out of beats after doing this for a year. I told him that it hadn’t even crossed my mind. I’m confident I could keep doing this for a decade without running out of beats if I wanted to.
This is the beginning of something really exciting and I can’t wait to push it to the limit with all of my Micro-Choppers out there.
The ninth playlist in the Micro-Chop Daily X series features the following artists, with each name hyperlinked to bring you directly to their Bandcamp, SoundCloud, or website: yonderling, Chanes, Havoc, Sadiva, Statik Selektah, DertBeats, Beanz N Kornbread, LINAFORNIA, Distantstarr, 9th Wonder.
Be on the lookout for The Micro-Chop Daily X #10 dropping tomorrow.
