Having just released our first independent film, we’re well aware of the struggle involved to get it on the big screen, which is why we want to start a film festival in Denver on April 20th, better know as 4–20. We’ve noticed there aren’t many film festivals devoted to comedy and we want to change that, and what better time and place to have some laughs than Denver, Colorado on 4–20?

Our plan is simple- Four-wall one of the many great independent theaters for the day in Denver, notify the many contacts we’ve made in the local media to cover the event, and invite the public to attend for free to maximize audiences for the filmmakers. Every filmmaker deserves the opportunity to see their work on the big screen and hear live audiences laughing along with their art. Unlike most film festivals, the Colorado Comedy Fest will choose it’s lineup based soley on how funny the work is- not who you know, how many celebrities you have in your film, who your publicist is, budget size, etc. Whether it’s produced on a $100 camera or $10,000 camera it makes no difference- the funniest ones make it in- period. With the legalization movement in Colorado, 4–20 is a huge day in Denver and we’d like to give the hundreds of thousands who flock to the city that day an opportunity to see some great films and give filmmakers a platform to be recognized and to continue their great work.
